beginnings of the problem and put out vinegar (I think) and peppermint oil and it got them out of the house.

I actually cleaned part of one bathroom last week when I was there (yeah...it was gross) and I did see the dried remnants of some old mouse poop. Which I cleaned up using a mask.

But to the point, the remedy you suggested is a good, humane way, to get them out of the house. I could not do traps or sticky pads :(
