...given that she technically only gave me half my DNA. I have stronger Scottish ancestry since my paternal grandfather was purely Scottish, but even that, we're still in the same areas within Scotland, lol.
I also found out that my mother is third cousins with my father's stepfather, where is actually where I get my last name, because my paternal grandmother changed my father's name when she got remarried when my father was like...not yet 2. I was seeing my last name beyond just my immediate family and I was like "But why? I'm not actually related to them." My mom was like "Oh, you are, on my side, George and I were third cousins." I don't know WHY I don't like that, but I don't like it, lol. Obviously incest is not an issue, but it's weird if you technically could have met my father at the same family reunion.
