Over the years, I've discovered that the movie versions of books I love disappoint me, so i try to stay away from one or the other. For example, I'm not interested in READING the Jack Reacher books that the current Amazon show, Reacher, is based on, so the show is fair game.
I really enjoyed the Preacher series but have not and probably won't ever read the comic it's based on.
i won't be watching any other of AMC's Anne Rice adaptations because they are such bastardizations of the novels that it makes me actually ANGRY watching it and trying to understand why they are choosing what they are to pluck out and base the plot lines on.

I do love a free trial and I try to stack up as many shows as I can before signing up. It's not often longer than 7-14 days, so wintertime is always the better time for me to do a free trial.
