i also did my taxes this past weekend, but we are NOT getting anything back, we have to pay.

i had a weird situation in 2024 where i was paid 2 bonuses. one of those was a 'one time only' thing related to the sale of my business to a different firm. but honestly? that was a deferred bonus from 2022 AND 2023. So i'm extra mad that the tax hit came in one year and it was so high.
I would be too! Nothing like getting a little extra $$$ and then having to practically give it right back.
i'll never again in my lifetime see a similar situation, but i think i should have listened to my mom when she suggested additional withholdings when we did taxes LAST year.
Moms are smart like that <g>.
go out and have a little splurgy meal while you are off. maybe go get yourself a little something nice for your crafting projects, as well. you deserve it!!!
