a couple of years ago and a long time ago. I reread Handmaid’s Tale right before I started watching the TV series. I should reread 1984 and other Orwell. We really are living in Orwellian times.

I recently finished The Lying Lives of Adults by Elena Ferrante. It’s her latest novel, post-My Brilliant Friend and another great coming of age story. I find her writing to be so brutally emotionally honest. I carried this book to Mexico and back in January but didn’t have time to read it.

I just started Trust by Hernan Diaz, who is an Argentine-American writer who lives in Brooklyn.. This novel was named the recipient of the 2023 Pulitzer Prize for Fiction alongside Barbara Kingsolver's Demon Copperhead; this was the first time two Fiction Prizes were awarded simultaneously in the award's history.
