it will go for miles and miles and miles if taken care of properly - and who better to properly care of a Honda than someone who WORKS for Honda?!
i might address the rust on the door panel in the first instance, because rust doesn't ever stop or go away on its own.
I tend to keep my cars until they fall apart around me, so i COMPLETELY understand about the parking break thing! in my car, it goes on AUTOMATICALLY and if you aren't looking at the dash, you wouldn't even see the little "parking break engaged" message before it goes away.
oof. I strongly suggest, if you did't get one, ordering the owners manual. it might cost $50 - $75 but it's worth every penny to have it in hard copy IN THE CAR.
