considering how badly we played during our Western road trip that began the season but what a boring game. 0-0 until the bottom of the ninth when we won in "exciting fashion" via...a bases-loaded walk. One of my co-workers had tickets not only to this game but also tonight's Cavs' game. Fortunately, the lack of offense from either baseball team meant the game was short (roughly 2 and 1/2 hours) and she and her husband had plenty of time to walk across the street to Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse for the basketball game (and time to have a quick bite beforehand at one of the kiosks).

Another co-worker asked me if I've ever been to a Cleveland baseball team's home opener. Not only have I not, I don't want to go to a home opener. A packed stadium + iffy weather (it was right at freezing at the start of the game) = no Wahoo in the stands. Because I don't like to sit outside in the cold, I generally don't go to baseball games until at least June <g>. My favorite time to catch a game is a weekday in mid-September. The kids are back in school and the crowd, which is usually sparse unless we're in a tight pennant race, is mostly serious fans, the weather is warm but not hot and you both arrive and depart in daylight, assuming the game doesn't go 20 innings or something.
