newsletter informing people of upcoming (mostly) free programs for patrons to attend. Many are craft-oriented while some are talks given by experts on various subjects (usually local interest items). The majority of the programs have limited seating and require registration, which I'm totally cool with.
What I'm NOT cool with is how quickly spaces fill up. In each newsletter, there's a date for the start of registration for programs. Today was the start of registration for events in June, July and August. I should've stayed up a little late and tried to register for the eight, possibly nine programs that sounded interesting (all making art of some kind) at 12:01 AM. I didn't. I just now tried to register for the eight, possibly nine programs that sounded interesting...each and every one of them is not only full but has a wait list of 20+ people.
My aunt suspects people who work at the library are somehow able to pre-register themselves or friends and family. That might be...I also think it might just be the early birds who are up at 4:00 AM and go straight to their computer (or smartphone). Either way, I'm disappointed.
