but honestly, it usually stays up till the second week of January so there's still plenty of time to enjoy it.
It's funny how family members can remember things differently...my dad's younger sister swears their childhood Christmas trees never went up before Christmas Eve because my dad didn't want it up earlier but Dad has no recollection of that. He does remember *one* year where he and Grandpa didn't get the tree until Christmas Eve (and thus didn't decorate it until that night) but he said that was his first year in the Marines and he didn't get to come home until right before Christmas, so Grandpa waited until he had help chopping down a live tree and wrestling it onto the top of the car, driving it home and wrestling it into the stand.
