i don't get it at all. like, the first discarded tree I see? almost tears.

and we saw our first discarded Xmas tree on SATURDAY. and it was mostly covered by the snow that had fallen on Friday night, so......they dumped the tree less than 24 hours after Christmas.

I love christmas. I love ALL of it. the shopping, the music, the lights on the houses, the holiday concerts and gatherings and tree lightings and ALL OF IT. when it's over, I'm sad.

and I can't imagine bringing on that sadness one day earlier than i have to.

but i'm guessing folks who don't really like the holidays, or find it stressful or go away immediately following Christmas Day, are happy to have it packed away.

growing up, we took everything down on New Year's Day, and I always begged to leave at least SOMETHING up so the house didn't look so barren and cold. LOLOL even as a kid.....
