I just watched episode 3 and really enjoyed the Scott Hunter & Kip story.

There was no need for subtitles in this episode so it was the first episode that I didn’t have to wrestle with the frustration of having no subtitles. LOL, I might like Scott & Kip more than Shane & Illya.

There's a scene in episode 5 that is just a long russian monologue and you really gotta know what he's saying.

Thanks for the heads up. Some people say they had no subtitles watching on HBO Max for the first couple of episodes but HBO fixed it by episode 5 (whatever that means). If I still don’t have subtitles by E5, I’ll seek out a clip of that monologue.
