have the snow than the ice.
And speaking of...I opened the store this morning and when I got to work, I saw there was a solid, smooth and pretty thick sheet of ice right in front of our back door. It's not our responsibility to take care of the plowing and salting--that's the owner's responsibility (he of course hires someone to take care of that)--but I still found myself clocking in, then going out while I still had on my snow boots and winter gear and doing my best to chip away at the ice with the cheap plastic snow shovel. I had only minimal success so I put a sign on the door saying "watch your step--icy!" (customers can enter our store from either the front or back) and informed our store manager before we left that we had essentially a doormat made of ice at the back door.
