sitting through some kind of talk when my bff and I went to Hawaii. But it was more "welcome to Kauai--here's what to do and some coupons to help offset the cost of doing those things" rather than trying to sell us something. My strongest memory of the talk was getting a coupon for a free Big Mac and thinking "we're never going to use this!". Then when sticker shock set in, we were grateful for those free Big Macs. For the week we were in Hawaii (and never left Kauai--too many great things to do there), we would absolutely stuff ourselves at the hotel's free, and quite expansive, breakfast buffet, skip lunch and then go out to dinner somewhere. Our hotel room had a complimentary fruit basket when we arrived; some days, a piece of fruit WAS lunch.
