an anglicized version of, or a flat out mispronunciation of, the word "Sheagua", which is the local Native American tribe's word for...yes, raccoon.

Once, I was laying on a park bench elevating an injured leg while listening to a baseball game. I looked up and there was a huge raccoon a few feet away in the trees just staring at me. I sat up and he strolled away.

That's a pretty bold raccoon!

Glad you were able to relocate Rocky safely to another place. I can’t believe that Juice got onto the roof and was apparently able to get down by himself? I once had a cat who pushed the screen out of a window, climbed to the top of the fire escape and then cried because she couldn’t get back down. I had to climb up to get her.

Juice was amazingly agile. I saw him up the maple tree once (and of course took pictures) and worried he'd be stuck there but he managed to get himself down. I also saw him once atop the remnants of the neighbor's tree, which had all the branches sawed off and was just a bifurcated "trunk" that stood about 20' tall. He got himself down from that as well. I'm glad you were able to rescue your kitty from the fire escape!
