mean freedom from consequences of speech. I have more thoughts about that but a) they would be better suited for the political board and b) I suspect they wouldn't be very popular. Back to this specific case...like it or not, athletes represent their employers (NBA, NFL, MLB, etc.) more than the average employee represents his or her place of employment. And in this day and age of social media, it's far easier to share one's beliefs and stances than it was in the past, and it's far easier to have your beliefs and stances discovered by others. More simply put, be careful of what you put out on social media if you're not prepared for the consequences.

That being said...I hope Jaden Ivey made his million and banked it, and I hope he goes back to school and gets a degree because I don't see another team picking him up. If he was a fan favorite averaging 30 points per game, I suspect the team would overlook his social media rants because sadly, money speaks louder than morals sometimes (often).
