Just bear with me, no pun intended. I have joined the legions of Big Bear Bald Eagle fans. Jackie and Shadow, mated for life, are a tonic for the soul. They are so supportive of each other and love each other so much (in whatever way Eagles feel love).

You can watch them on the Big Bear Eagle Watch Cam. I mean, they are a viral sensation. Big Bear Lake is an alpine lake in San Bernardino Mountains - east of LA, with Riverside/San Berdoo to the south, and the Mojave to the north. In case you care to know where this is. Yes, it's beautiful and this is where they nest in the trees above the lake every year.

They've had multiple clutches over the years. This year, they had a clutch that was taken by Ravens - we think (WE lol) that the eggs weren't viable - the day this happened, J&S left the nest for hours. Everyone was so heartbroken and worried, but then the two of them got busy again, and beautiful Shadow laid two more eggs.

All week, we've been waiting for the first sign of a little eaglet pecking its way through the shell, called a Pip.

And we have a pip.

I am such a proud auntie :*)

Am I weird? Yeah I am.
