multiple times will do the trick. They might respond well to persistence (you really really want to work there) and/or you might just hit a time when a few people leave (and you’re in the right place at the right time). You definitely have the personality and temperament to fit into TJs culture and you’d make more money and have benefits. I can picture you being relatively happy working there.

I love TJs. Do you shop there often? Maybe you should ask every time you shop there whether they’re hiring? Let the manager get to know you as a customer and wear him or her down with your enthusiasm. It will probably help that you now have a couple years of retail experience. Just like what happened when your sister bindery closed in NC — the squeaky wheel gets the grease. I’m thankful that I’m not job hunting but it sounds like today you can’t apply and wait for them to call you. You have to be aggressive and proactive and relentless. That combined with your sunny, friendly, sweet personality is a winning combination.

I’m sorry if I’m being too pushy. I don’t want to see you stuck in a place that you’re unhappy in. You’ve stocked up on new clothes. Now switch to discounts on good food!
