Direct TV finally got their On-Screen Episode Guides posted for next week. And - it looks like things might be turning a corner for Paul. Paul now has to figure out how Daisy's "mother" was able to check Daisy out of the psychiatric hospital when Daisy's husband, Daniel, has already been officially listed as Daisy's next of kin. However, since JFP's new crew of writers will be taking over the writing duties beginning Friday, October 12, there is some possibility that the new writers will decide to wrap up Paul's case as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, the even worse news COULD be that, as soon as Paul is off the hook for the events leading up to Ricky's death, Paul, Heather and Daniel will all receive unbelievable "dream job" offers for some place in Siberia - at least, somewhere far, far away from Genoa City. The recent addition of more people from shows which JFP has helmed in the past makes it appear that things will soon be going from bad to worse for the Y&R audience at the same time. Latest news is that CHRISTEL KHALIL will be remaining as Lily. However, JFP is still hustling a number of well-known Y&R performers toward a hasty exit. These now include LINDSAY BUSHMAN as SUMMER NEWMAN. As well as GENIE FRANCIS as Genevieve, DEBBI MORGAN as Harmony, MARCY RYLAN as Abby and KEVIN SCHMIDT as Noah Newman. JULIA PACE MITCHELL has been dropped to recurring, so Sofia will most likely only make sporadic appearances from now on. Most recent word is that JENNIFER LANDON'S days as HEATHER STEVENS are also numbered, in spite of the fact that LANDON has won numerous Emmy Awards for her work in Daytime. In the meantime, long-time Friends of Jill are already making their way into the cast. Actress COOPER HARRIS has reportedly been hired - but for an unspecified role at this point. There is also word that BILLY MILLER has decided NOT to remain as Billy Abbott and MICHAEL GRAZIADEI has decided NOT to remain as DANIEL. However, reports are that both actors made their decisions to leave BEFORE JFP arrived to take over Y&R. JFP is likewise rushing to add other "Friends of Jill" to the Y&R cast. Most recent news indicates that HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS regular, HUNTER HALEY KING will soon be taking over the role of SUMMER NEWMAN. GRAHAM SHIELS debuted in a recurring role as one of the California dock workers, beginning September 10. SHIELS appeared as Cody Paul on the General Hospital spin-off, Night Shift, which was helmed by JFP. Friend of Jill ROBERT ADAMSON debuted in the role of Noah Newman on October 1. ADAMSON is best known for the role of Phil in HOLLYWOOD HEIGHTS - which was also helmed by JFP. In the meantime, BRENT BOYD, who previously wrote for Hollywood Heights, has joined the Y&R writing staff. Will long-time viewers still be able to recognize Y&R by the time that Christmas rolls around? Only time will tell! Y&R -- Phyllis is caught in a compromising position. Newman Enterprises is jeopardized by Sharon's short-sighted executive decisions.

In Phyllis's apartment, after Phyllis hits the sheets with Ronan, Phyllis declares that they can never let their emotions get out of control again. Ronan attempts to argue, but is interrupted when Leslie calls to inform Phyllis that her trial begins tomorrow,

At the police department, Christine brings the file on Tim Reid's death to Michael and demands to know about connecting Tim's death to Phyllis. When Michael declares that they were NOT able to establish any connection between Tim's death and Phyllis, Christine reminds Michael that there IS a connection between Tim's death and Kevin. Michael reminds Christine that she has no valid reason to be rifling through the file on Tim's death. When Christine continues to quiz Michael about the fact that Tim's landlady had stated that she saw Kevin in her building on the night of Tim's death - Michael insists that Kevin denied being in the building - end of story. When Michael insists that Kevin is NOT involved in this case, Christine accuses Michael of allowing his personal feelings to cloud his judgement and declares that she believes that Michael is NOT pursuing the case against Phyllis in the way that he should.

At Crimson Lights, Avery interrupts Kevin while Kevin is working on his computer. When Avery asks Kevin if he has had any luck in locating Daisy, Kevin explains that he is working on posting a personal video on Daisy's FacePlace page in the hope that Daisy will see the video and return in time to help Paul's case. They are interrupted when Sharon arrives and declares that she needs Avery's assistance right away, because Sharon's life is on the line. Kevin tries to convince Sharon that Daisy's whereabouts are more important than Sharon's unsettling situation. Afterward, Sharon attempts to convince Avery to help Sharon convince Victor to drop the charges which Victor has brought against Sharon. Avery advises Sharon to accept Michael's deal - but Sharon reminds Avery that she should not need to land in jail for three years because Victor abandoned her. They are interrupted when Abby arrives and urges Avery NOT to attempt to help Sharon. After Sharon and Abby argue about Sharon's behavior while Victor was away, Sharon makes another plea to Avery for Avery's help. However, Avery sides with Abby and, once again, informs Sharon that there is nothing which Avery can do to help Sharon at this point.

Jack and Genevieve meet at Glow Worm and discuss Jack's plan for the S.E.C. agents to arrive to speak to Genevieve about Tucker's plan to keep Victor out of town until Newman stock took a nosedive. Genevieve warns Jack that it seems very suspicious that Tucker appears to be more willing to deal with an S.E.C. investigation than to take the easy way out and sell Beauty of Nature back to Jack. When Genevieve warns Jack NOT to underestimate Tucker, Jack asks if Genevieve is planning to double-cross him! Genevieve reassures Jack that nothing of the sort will happen.

In Victor's office, Victor is surprised when Tucker arrives and insists upon speaking to Victor. When Victor reminds Tucker about Tucker's recent plan to scoop up plummeting Newman stock, Tucker reminds Victor about the deal which Victor made with Katherine to grab Jabot while Tucker was in a coma. While trading insults, Victor is stunned when Tucker offers to GIVE Beauty of Nature back to Victor in exchange for Sharon's freedom. When Victor hesitates, Tucker reminds Victor that it is not likely that Sharon could have pulled off her take-over of Newman Enterprises without help. Victor reminds Tucker that Tucker will, eventually, pay for the part which Tucker played in keeping Victor away from his family while Victor was suffering from amnesia. Tucker reminds Victor that Victor married Sharon for no reason other than to make Nikki jealous. Victor admits that, although he remains suspicious about Tucker's actions, he IS interested in Tucker's offer. Victor declares that, in order for Victor to agree to Tucker's deal, Sharon would also need to agree to sign annulment papers, plus drop her lawsuit which charges that Victor abandoned her. Tucker admits that Sharon has no idea that Tucker is offering to make a deal with Victor and declares that IF Victor wants Sharon to agree to an annulment and to drop the abandonment lawsuit, Victor will need to discuss those issues with Sharon. Victor suggests that Tucker needs to let Sharon know what Victor will be expecting.

At Crimson Lights, Kevin completes his personal video plea to Daisy, and urges her to at least get in touch with Kevin and let Kevin know that she is OK.

In Phyllis's apartment, as Ronan gets dressed, Phyllis admits to Ronan that she let Danny know that she saw Danny kissing Christine on the night of the hit and run accident. Ronan reminds Phyllis that Tim Reid will NOT be testifying against her - and that Phyllis has an alibi for the night of Tim's death.

At Crimson Lights, Abby spots Summer and tries to convince Summer to hang out with her. However, Summer begins making excuses about needing to rush to get one of her textbooks at school. At that moment, some of Summer's classmates come around the corner. When they spot Summer, they begin rushing away. Abby declares that she have figured out what is going on with Summer! And leaps to the conclusion that Summer is sneaking out while grounded. Summer finally sits down and tells her tale of woe to Abby. Summer observes that it is like Phyllis's family means absolutely nothing to Phyllis. Abby tries to convince Summer to think about calling a truce with Phyllis.

At Glow Worm, Jack and Genevieve continue discussing their plan to discuss what Genevieve knows about Tucker with the S.E.C. They are interrupted when Tucker calls Genevieve. Tucker tells Genevieve that the S,E,C, is already beginning their investigation into Tucker's business affairs. Tucker informs Genevieve that, it is too late for Jack to scoop up Beauty of Nature - and that, if Tucker goes down - Genevieve will be going down with him. However, Jack reminds Genevieve that the S.E.C. will most likely guarantee immunity from prosecution for Genevieve in exchange for Genevieve's assistance in the S.E.C.'s investigation into Tucker's business activities. The S.E.C. investigators arrive shortly afterward and insist upon speaking to Genevieve in private. Genevieve leaves with the S.E.C. investigators.

In the meantime, Victor calls Avery and asks her to meet with him to draw up some legal documents regarding Sharon. When Victor mentions that he plans to get in touch with Sharon, Avery volunteers the information that Sharon is with Avery, at Crimson Lights. Victor suggests that Avery should tell Sharon that Victor would like to meet with Sharon in his office.

At Phyllis's apartment, Ronan goes over the details about Phyllis's case with Phyllis. When Phyllis reminds Ronan that they will need to depend on Kevin to be able to keep his cool, Ronan reassures Phyllis that Kevin has strong motives for wanting to keep their secret quiet. Ronan is stunned when Phyllis admits that Chloe also knows that Kevin helped Phyllis move Tim's body out of Phyllis's apartment and back to Tim's apartment.

In the meantime, at the police department, Christine and Michael continue to argue about Beth's testimony about Tim's death. While looking through the file investigating Tim's death, Christine suddenly learns that Kevin received a parking ticket a couple of days after Tim's death.

When Sharon arrives at Victor's office, Victor tells Sharon that IF Sharon will sign the annulment papers right away and drop the abandonment lawsuit, Victor will drop the charges which he has brought against Sharon.

Devon spots Tucker when he arrives at the Athletic Club and walks past him. However, Tucker spots Devon and insists upon speaking to him. Tucker explains that he has never had to live up to someone else's expectations before, but that he IS trying to be a better person. After Tucker explains that he offered to give Beauty of Nature back to Victor Newman, they are interrupted when the S.E.C. investigators arrive and insist upon speaking privately with Tucker.

When Kevin arrives at Phyllis's apartment, Ronan quizzes Kevin about Kevin's decision to tell Chloe that Kevin helped Phyllis move Tim's body from Phyllis's apartment to Tim's apartment on the night when Tim died. After Kevin and Ronan argue, Kevin insists that he is busy and needs to get back to work. Kevin reminds everyone that Daisy is missing and that Kevin is eager to find her.

At the police department, Michael quizzes the police officers who gave Kevin the parking ticket. Michael observes that Kevin received the parking ticket miles away from Tim's place, as well as far away from Phyllis's apartment. The police officers report that Kevin claimed that he stopped to take a leak. But, after Kevin left, the police officers discovered a rug in the dumpster. However, while the two police officers were making plans to bring the rug into the lab to have it checked out, Agent Malloy arrived and convinced them that the rug was not important enough for the police officers to be wasting their time to investigate it.

Devon spots Abby at Crimson Lights, and they end up discussing their relationships with Tucker and Victor.

In the meantime, when Tucker meets with the S.E.C. investigators, Tucker claims to know nothing about Genevieve's statement to the S.E.C. Tucker claims to know nothing about the picture of Victor and Sister Celeste which Genevieve sent to Tucker - and insists that the only thing which Tucker is guilty of is breaking Genevieve's heart.

At the same time, in Victor's office, Sharon reluctantly signs the annulment papers and agrees to drop the lawsuit against Victor. When Sharon attempts to speak to Victor, Victor abruptly dismisses Sharon. After Sharon leaves, Victor asks Avery to bring copies of all of the contracts which Sharon negotiated while Victor was away. When Victor begins checking on Sharon's activities while he was away, Victor becomes alarmed.

At Phyllis's apartment, Kevin assures Phyllis and Ronan that he plans to continue keeping quiet about Kevin's part in moving Tim's body. Meanwhile, at the police department, Michael continues to insist that there is still no reason to connect Kevin to Tim's death. Michael reluctantly agrees to have the city dump searched for the missing rug. Christine points out that Ronan is smart - and if Ronan is involved, Ronan got rid of the rug. Christine observes that there is only one person who can give them the truth.

After Kevin leaves Phyllis's apartment, Phyllis dissolves in tears and cries on Ronan's shoulder. Phyllis and Ronan begin to get passionate again. However, as Phyllis and Ronan head to the couch again, Summer arrives home and opens the door. Summer gets a look at Phyllis and Ronan, making out on the couch, and runs out of the door again.

At Crimson Lights, Abby is amazed when she checks with her broker and discovers that her Newman stock has been skyrocketing.

When Sharon arrives at the the Athletic Club, Tucker spots her arriving. However, when Tucker attempts to speak with Sharon, Sharon refuses to speak to Tucker and reminds Tucker that, when Victor returned to Genoa City, Tucker went running like a coward.

At Glow Worm, Jack welcomes Genevieve back and they toast to the fact that the S.E.C. investigators guaranteed that Genevieve would be immune from prosecution. Although Genevieve worries that Jack was not able to get Beauty of Nature back, Jack assures Genevieve that he might have something better - a substantial portion of Newman stock. Jack observes that it is not enough stock to do any damage on his own, but if he meets someone else who also owns substantial stock in Newman Enterprises, they might be able to wield some power. Jack is surprised when Genevieve reveals that she took the money which Tucker paid to her while she was keeping an eye on Victor, and purchased substantial chunks of Newman stock as well.

In Victor's office, Victor tells Avery that Sharon sold off a substantial amount of Victor's personal shares in Newman Enterprises - and that there are enough of Victor's personal shares which are now in the hands of strangers that IF any of Victor's rivals got together, they would be able to take over Newman Enterprises.

Y&R -- Tucker faces Nikki's wrath. Michael's questions prompt a surprising confession from Chloe. Summer tells Nick that she believes that Ronan's affair with Phyllis is not just a cover but, rather, that the affair is real. Sharon tells S.E.C. agents that she will help them put Tucker McCall away. Nikki is stunned when Victor declares that his company is slipping out of his hands as they speak.

Y&R -- Phyllis's trial takes a surprising turn. Jack has shocking news for Victor. The material scripted by JILL FARREN PHELPS and the new writing team begins to air on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12. JAMES AVERY, who previously appeared as a Judge on The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, will debut on OCTOBER 12 as a judge who will be presiding over a very important trial.

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2012 -- SUMMARY OF THE WEEK'S EVENTS
Y&R -- The fallout from Sharon's executive decisions produces serious consequences for Newman Enterprises. It will be revealed that Sharon sold off huge chunks of Newman Enterprises stock - enough shares so that IF any of Victor's rivals wanted to gain the upper hand in the Newman boardroom, it WOULD be possible! Tucker arrives at Victor's office and admits that he wants to help Sharon out of her predicament. Tucker offers to sell Beauty of Nature to Victor IF Victor will drop all charges pending against Sharon. Victor agrees. Later, Victor tells Sharon that he will drop all charges against her if she will sign the annulment papers. Sharon agrees and signs the paperwork for an annulment. As soon as Sharon is released, she decides that she can get even with Tucker by telling the S.E.C. everything which she knows about Tucker's attempts to manipulate Newman stock by giving Sharon the type of misinformation which caused Newman stock to continue to plummet. Later, Sharon learns from Victor that the only reason why Victor agreed to drop the charges against Sharon was because Tucker agreed to sell Beauty of Nature back to Victor. Sharon decides that she needs to see Tucker - but Sharon arrives just as Tucker is being arrested by officials from the S.E.C. Nikki, Nick, and Victoria stand with Victor as Victor attempts to pull Newman Enterprises back from the financial brink - but Adam remains undecided. Summer's news leads to major fallout between Nick and Phyllis. Ronan turns up at Phyllis's apartment and they begin to get passionate. Summer arrives, spots Phyllis and Ronan in a passionate embrace and leaves, without letting her mother know what she saw. After Summer leaves, Phyllis puts on the brakes and Ronan agrees to take it slow. Afterward, however, Ronan asks if he can use the shower and Phyllis agrees. In the meantime, Summer finds Nick and begins talking about her mother's affair with Ronan. While Nick is explaining to Summer that there actually is NO real affair, because Ronan just wanted to give Phyllis an alibi, Summer launches into her revelation about the passionate scene which Summer witnessed between Phyllis and Ronan. Determined to discover what really IS going on, Nick heads to Phyllis's apartment. While Phyllis and Nick are arguing about Summer's report about Ronan's passionate encounter with Phyllis, Ronan finishes with his shower and heads downstairs. Nick is NOT pleased by what he sees. After Ronan leaves, Nick and Phyllis continue their argument. Phyllis's trial begins. Chloe cracks under Michael's questions. -- Y&R -- The writing of the new writing team at Y&R is scheduled to begin airing on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 12, 2012. In spite of Jill Farren Phelps's public reassurances that Genie Francis is NOT going anywhere, many sources are now reporting that GENIE FRANCIS is definitely out as Genevieve. ONE change in casting news includes recent revelations that CHRISTEL KHALIL has been able to work out her contract negotiations with SONY, and WILL be remaining in the role of LILY - for the time being. Y&R -- The courtroom is stunned by the judge's ruling during Phyllis's' trial. Chelsea and Adam receive devastating news. Cane manages to track down the mystery woman. Jack's announcement brings disastrous repercussions for the Newman family. Sharon's breakdown at the Newman Ranch has catastrophic consequences. (Word is that Sharon will burn down the Newman Ranch and that, instead of rebuilding, Victor and Nikki will move into a Penthouse. Later, Sharon will reunite with a former flame - which could mean Tucker, Adam, Nick, Billy, Jack, or even Victor or former flames who left Genoa City eons ago.) There is word that JESS WALTON will be returning as JILL some time after OCTOBER 5. WALTON has declared that she will be involved in events in Genoa City for FOUR to SIX WEEKS!

COULD BE EVEN WORSE NEWS AHEAD?
Y&R -- Soap Opera Network is reporting that STEVE BURTON's contract negotiations with GENERAL HOSPITAL are NOT going well. It is well known that incoming Y&R Exec JILL FARREN PHELPS has always had a special fondness for STEVE BURTON as GENERAL HOSPITAL'S mob enforcer, JASON MORGAN. A number of reporters are suggesting that it probably would not take much for JFP to attempt to entice BURTON into accepting a role at Y&R. Could Y&R audiences be looking at "Hollywood Heights comes to Genoa City and turns into Mob Central" in the near future? TV Guide is also reporting that BURTON'S exit from General Hospital is now a "done deal" - and that BURTON will be exiting GENERAL HOSPITAL on OCTOBER 22. Although Burton has stated that he and his family are headed for their new home in Tennessee, JFP has made statements, indicating that she would be happy to ask BURTON to join the Y&R cast.

MORE VERY BAD NEWS?!
Y&R -- Although both YVONNE ZIMMA and PETER PORTE appear to be gone for now as Daisy and Ricky - the BAD news is that the ramifications of their little dust-up is scheduled to drag out for the REST of the summer. Apparently, YVONNE ZIMMA has RETURNED to YOUNG AND RESTLESS and has been taping scenes there. The current story appears to be that Daisy is alive and kicking and has been hiding out in Genoa City's nearby psychiatric hospital. The good news, we presume, is that Daisy DID see the video which Ricky made, showing the circumstances of Rachel's death. So, even though Ricky's computer, as well as the original video of Ricky and Rachel, has reportedly disappeared, Daisy could still testify that she DID see the video. In the meantime, however, in an attempt to win an early release from the psychiatric hospital where she had been hiding out, Daisy swallowed a handful of pills and ended up in a coma. While Paul's friend sand family hope that Daisy will recover in time to exonerate Paul, Daisy's condition goes from bad to worse. However, even if Daisy DID recover, since Daisy has a long history of lying, is it possible that anyone would be willing to believe Daisy's latest story? Then, of course, there IS the hospital's report that Daisy was checked out of the hospital by Daisy's "mother." In the meantime, PAUL will reportedly make a new discovery about RICKY'S past, and Paul's discovery will leave Paul teetering on the brink of serious mental distress.

HAS GOOD NEWS TURNED INTO BAD NEWS?
Y&R -- There are STILL REPORTS that the next obstacle which SHARON must face will be a scare about a brain tumor. Some are hoping that this will, in some way, give an explanation for Sharon's erratic behavior over the past couple of years. Word is that ERIC BRAEDEN has signed a new contract and will continue in the role of VICTOR.

BABY ON BOARD?
Y&R -- There have been reports that a former Genoa City trouble maker will be headed back to Genoa City - with a baby in tow. Some are speculating that ADAM'S old girlfriend, SKYE, may be headed back to town with the news that she survived falling into a volcano, and now has a child. Other possibilities include DIANE, Patty and/or EMILY. Since ADRIENNE FRANZ has been put on recurring status at BOLD AND BEAUTIFUL, there is also a possibility that AMBER might be headed back to Genoa City - now that DANIEL is beginning to take his responsibilities as LUCY'S father seriously. There is also KEVIN'S former wife, JANA. Remember, when Kevin went to make arrangements for Jana's memorial service, Kevin was astonished when he discovered that some of Jana's distant relatives had ALREADY claimed the body!

FRIDAY, OCTOBER 26, 2012 -- SUMMARY OF THE MONTH'S EVENTS
Y&R -- The Good News is that Maria A. Bell has reportedly been let go in a SURPRISE move by SONY. Unfortunately, the very, very, very bad, DISASTROUS news for Y&R viewers is that JILL FARREN PHELPS will be taking BELL'S place! Having watched the way in which JFP single-handedly destroyed both OLTL and GH - we can only observe that it appears that SONY is merely jumping from the frying pan and into the fire with this move. Of course, another possibility is that SONY has decided that the time has come for SONY to get out of the SOAP business - and head honchos believe that JFP will be able to drive away enough viewers so that SONY can cancel Y&R without worrying too much about an embarrassing backlash from viewers. -- Early reports are that JFP will most likely immediately fire Genie Francis, Stephen Nichols, Darnell Williams, Julia Pace Mitchell and Debbi Morgan. Veteran performers who will be immediately hustled off to the back burner will be Doug Davidson, Peter Bergman, Tracey Bregman, Melody Thomas Scott, Eric Braeden and Jeanne Cooper. Viewers will begin seeing more of Lily and Cane and Phyllis.

There are now reports that there are STILL plans for JESS WALTON to return to Genoa City as JILL, some time AFTER OCTOBER 5. However, there has not yet been any word as to whether or not TRISTAN ROGERS will also be returning as COLIN when JILL returns to Genoa City - as had been originally planned.

Autumn Solaris is apparently no longer posting video clips of the Young and Restless Canadian episodes. However, there ARE still Canadian viewers who have been posting video clips of the Young and Restless Canadian episodes at You Tube. However, they have kindly asked everyone NOT to post any links to their board in the hope that they will be able to keep their board open a little longer. HOWEVER, if you google AtkinsonM2 You Tube - you will most likely find it quickly enough. Atkinson M2 has ALSO established a back-up board, in case the AtkinsonM2 board runs in to "technical difficulties." You can find the AtkinsonM2 back-up board by googling AtkinsonM5 You Tube.

ABOUT CANADIAN BROADCAST RECAPS --
ALSO - I thought I would point out that if you want to read the detailed recaps for the CANADIAN broadcast REALLY early when they are posted at Soaps.com

You can surf in to the main page for Y&R at Soaps.com, then choose CAST LIST from the menu on the left. When you get to the cast list, choose a character who is mentioned in the PREVIEWS for the next day's action. For example, if NIKKI is mentioned in the previews for tomorrow's show, click on Nikki and you will be taken to the most recent RECAP which mentions Nikki. OFTEN, that will be the recap for TOMORROW'S episode, which has ALREADY aired in CANADA. Sometimes, the recap for the CANADIAN broadcast is posted as early as 4 PM Mountain time, which would be 3 PM Pacific, 5 PM Central and 6 PM Eastern.
