Why wouldn't she answer me? Lily

Poor Lily and Cane, learning that she had a embryonic pregnancy. My heart broke for both of them today as they learned that she lost the baby.

And welcome back from the weekend. Hope it was a good one. BTW, I met Greg Rikkart(Kevin) and Michael Grazedi(Daniel), at the Calgary(Alberta, Canada) Women's show. Both were funny and very down-to-earth guys and I intended to give a report soon on the board. Oh let me tell you, they are even more good looking in person!

Scene 1
Winters Condo

Lily hugs Neil and tells him that she slept well last night. Neil says all the comforts of home, if she wants to move back in. Lily asks no pressure right. Neil says no. If she ready for her doctor's appointment. Lily has to drink a lot of water for the ultrasound. Neil says water is good, how about some orange juice as well. She says sure. Lily asks when is Karen back from her trip. Neil says she is back. Lily asks since when? Neil says yesterday. Lily asks where is she? Has she gone to work already. She is spending a few days back at her place and wants some time to herself. Lily knows it because of her pregnancy and asks her to move back in and raise the baby. Neil denies it, but that's one of the main reasons IMHO. He says that Karen understands about the situation. Neil says they will be together, if it meant to be.

Neil is really surprised to see Cane at the door. Lily didn't tell her that he was dropping by. Cane is taking her to the doctor. Neil of course, assumed that he was taking her there. Lily yells that she is almost ready. Cane says no rush, he is early. Cane says that Lily has alot of her mind and invites Neil along. Neil says she is good hands, I was glad that he said that.
Cane thanks him and will be there for every childbirth class and midnight craving. Neil says they got plenty of experience backup. He mentions that he proposed. Cane asks if she told him that she turned him flat. Neil says for what it's worth. He believe for what's it worth, he thinks that a child should have both parents married and committed to each other. He would do anything for his daughter, but can't decided what is right for her. He remembers when he held Lily, first time in his hands, such an overwhelming feeling of protection. Nothing in the world matters more.

Lily is sorry that she is late and Cane notes she is wearing it. She says Cane gave the necklace to her. Neil notes mother and child very nice, good going. Lily says it makes her think about the baby and Mom too. She wishes she gave her one too. Neil asks if she got water. Lily says yes, her in page. Neil wants to be called afterwards and wants the tech to take a clear photo of the baby. Neil says experience, remember that to Cane. Lily is so excited as they leave. Then Neil calls Karen and leaves a message that he is thinking about the way they left things. He wants to find a way to work things out

Later Devon wishes Neil good morning as he is flipping through a photo album. He asks where is Lily? Neil replies that she is at the doctors. Devon thought he was taking her. Neil says Cane did. Devon notes that he is taking a look at Lily's baby pictures. Neil tells a humorous story of Lily wanting to take a lion cub home from the zoo. She threw a fit, as they said no. I wonder if that is one of Christel's picture as a child that we saw. Devon says she hasn't changed. Neil says the years go by so fast. Especially in a soap opera, kids age leaps like Lily's did LOL.

Scene 2
Hospital

On the bed, Lily asks what is ectopic? Cane doesn't know. Lily jokes that she has to learn a whole language, the pregnant lady language. Cane asks if she is nervous. Lily says maybe a little bit, but excited. She glad he is here with her. He kisses her hand as he held her hand, very romantic He wouldn't miss it for the world. Then Dr. Chang arrives and is okay with Cane staying. She asks how she is feeling. Lily says tired. She was nauseous for a while, but that went away. Now she just want to eat all the time. She says that good, her baby does too, stick to healthy stuff. Dr. Chang says her blood pressure and weight look good. Lily asks when does she start showing. Dr. Chang, for most women, 3-4 months. She will see changes before that. Cane asks how they know when they baby is due. They typical calculate on the first day of last menstrual period. Lily has been been irregular, that's why the early ultrasound. Lily asks if they can see the baby. Dr. Chang says at this stage the embryo is a size of grain of rice. And may not look like a baby to her. Lily asks if the baby has a heart beat. The doctor says it depends on what stage. The heart starts beating in the fifth week, they might be able to see a little flutter on the screen. Lily happily says heartbeat. Cane says it's a miracle as thy kiss. Lovely, as we see them happy for the moment, but sadly it won't last.

The technician tells her, the gel is going to feel pretty cold. While Lily asks where the baby is, the lady looks disturbed and says the doctor will be back to talk to her. A concerned Lily asks why didn't she answers the question. Cane thinks she probably wasn't allow to

The doctor looks sad as she looks at the screen. Lily asks what is wrong. Dr. Chang is very sorry, but she isn't pregnant. Cane and Lily look stunned. A shocked Lily says that's impossible, the test was positive. Cane informs her that she had morning sickness for weeks. Dr. Chang explains that she had an embryonic pregnancy. The sack develops in the wound but empty. There was abnormality that stopped the embryo from developing. And it was simply resorbed by her body. A disbelieving Lily says that can't be. The doctor says that 30% of pregnancy end up in miscarriages. In her case, the pregnancy test picked up the hormones. Lily asks was there something wrong with the baby. The doctor says it's natures way of weeding out a fetus that isn't viable. Cane kisses Lily's head and is so sorry. A confused Lily felt pregnant. The doctor says the hormones are still active after the embryo has been absorbed. A devastated Lily doesn't understand. My heart is just breaking for her and Cane, as the suffered the loss of their child. And Lily didn't nothing wrong, it was just one of those sadly happen.
Christel and Daniel gave amazing performances today, because I truly felt the pain and anguish that their characters were going through today.

Scene 1
Cottage

It is a sweet scene as we see Victoria wake up with Reed. She says such a bad mommy falling asleep on the couch. She wishes him good morning and asks for JT. She finds a rose and note. JT was sweethearts telling her that he didn't want to wake her. He is getting her a special breakfast, in honor of their big day. Home soon, see Victoria tells him that he has a special Daddy and they love him both. Today is a big day for him, his Christening day. The whole family will be there and she hopes that everybody behaves Good luck on that. LOL
Nikki drops by and brought a present for Reed. She takes him and she opens it. It was moving moment as we see that Nikki gave Victoria her Bible. What a wonderful pesonal gift. Victoria reflects how she couldn't swim for a whole summer due to Jonah and the Whale. Nikki says this little one reminds her of David with Gothic. The odds were so against him, that miracles happen. Here he is. Victoria is right that is beautiful

May the Bible be a reminder with faith and courage, they can get through anything

Victoria thought for the longest time, she was being tested. And she couldn't understand why. Nikki says like Job. Victoria didn't think she was going to have a family or be another. Nikki says now look at her. Victoria says when she watches Reed sleep at night. She can't believe he is here and that he is healthy and married to such a wonderful man. They have this beautiful baby together. Ah, Reed smile. What a cutie pie. A grateful Victoria says she is lucky. It was very moving as Nikki said she got everything she deserved. Yes, she did. And Victoria's family is the only thing that matters, not so-called best friend.

AC

JT orders the breakfast and Adam jokes he hopes that isn't all for him. JT replies big day today. Adam ask if the Brewers are playing a day. JT invites Adam to come, but he is busy with business meetings all day long. JT says if anything changes, he can drop by. Adam says he will. I think that Adam did the right thing by not coming. Sabrina could take a page out of his book.

Scene 3
Cottage

JT arrives home with breakfast and calls out her name. The ladies goes shh as Reed is sleeping. JT says it's not his naptime. Victoria doesn't want him cranky later on. JT invites Nikki for breakfast but passes. JT was sweet as she promised in his weddings vows, here is her coffee drink. JT notices the Bible and Victoria says it's Reed's Christening present, it's Nikki's. JT thinks it's cool. Victoria retorts they might need it with the Newman Clan at the Christening, they may need divine invention. LOL A nervous Victoria asks that he doesn't think he will bring Sabrina. JT asks "Victor, I do what I want, Newman" LOL, so true!
Victoria should call. JT advises her not to do that, it's will start WIII. It's Reed's day, let's keep that way. Amen! He ran into Adam at the club, and invited him. A distress Victoria say no, he should have called her. JT says it's okay, he is too busy. Victoria saw him last night, he was his usual condescending self. JT asks what did he say. She say that depends what interest him. The part where he told her she is self-absorbed. or that part, where she couldn't be a good mother because she didn't have a wholesome role model like his sanity mother JT asks WTH is wrong with this guy? Victoria doesn't know, he tell him.
JT nailed it as he said,

Victor's replacing his family. Out with you, Nick, your Mom, in with Adam and Sabrina.

Victoria says out with both of them. She wishes that neither of them had come to GC. I second that!

Ranchhouse

TGVN says that beans are from Ethiopia and the muffins are from the kitchen. Sabrina says they are very delicious. She wants get to office to seal some deal. Victor kisses her and says how tenacious of her.

Scene 5
Restless Style

Nick thought they were reshooting this. Sharon didn't Phyllis tell him. Phyllis cancelled it. Sharon thinks these dresses don't like dresses.like blurs of colors. Phyllis argues it's not, it's artistic, it's editorial. It's what they are going for at Restless Style.
Nick is totally stuck in the middle as Sharon and Phyllis asks what he thinks LOL.

Phyllis asks "To shoot or no to reshoot, that is the question?" LOL. Nick advises to divide the sucker right in half. LOL. Both ladies says seriously. Phyllis says Jack isn't here, he is the tie break. Nick says they want something unique, right. Sharon agrees, but not bizarro. Nick says the clock is ticking and money is flying out the window. So they are just going with this. Phyllis goes yeah and claps. Sharon points out that is what he didn't say before. Phyllis tells Sharon that people will like this photos, they will really make the magazine. Sharon is going to weigh in against keeping the pictures. Sharon is going to pick up Noah. Nick wants him to make sure that he has clean button shirt. Sharon says one every third. Nick has to take off and take the car in. Phyllis will see him later and Nick says they go together. Phyllis asks him if he liked her layout, why did he tell Sharon that she could do a reshoot. Nick repliess common courtesy. Jack and Sharon are partners too. He would expect Jack to do the same for her. He loves her and kisses her. Phyllis has a puzzled look on her face.

Adam finds Phyllis looking for her lost cars keys in her purse. She is going to kill him if Nick took them. He asks if she is going to the baptism
Phyllis replies because she is the godmother Adam says lucky kid. Adam has the report on the spokesperson search. Phyllis is tracing back her steps and Adam finds them with the pens containers. He loves the cover story and goes wow. Phyllis asks he like. Adam loves, this is exactly the idea that he was hoping she would go with. Phyllis sarcastically says some people don't agree. Some people wanted a reshoot. Adam's advice, fire them. Phyllis asks if she can quote him on that. Adam says absolutely. Phyllis is off and repacks her purse. Sabrina drops some mail off and Phyllis leaves. Adam says "Sorry that he walked up on her sexacapes, last night" LOL Sabrina says if he was a gentlemen, he would know that things shouldn't be mentioned. She has to go and get ready at the house. Adam asks that she'll be at the christening? Sabrina replies yes, she is invited. Adam retorts not by Victoria. After seeing her last night sees her only with wearing blush and blanket. She goes shh!! First of all it's none of his business. She has nothing absolutely to apologize for. Adam points out that she needs she does. Sabrina says he is wrong and bad mind reading. "The person, she is with is single and available. He was just eying a married woman. Adam says go Sabrina. Always going with "best defence is the good offence." Sabrina says the bottom line is his Phyllis to his brother's wife. Adam says she acts like he is criticizing her and admires a woman that knows what she wants a and can see why TGVN is charmed. An annoyed Sabrina says he just love to see the worst in other people, he just likes it. It's an very unattractive trait, bye.

ROFTL! I just love how he taunts Sabrina, who I can't stand. And Sabrina had a lot of gall judging Adam, when she is no better.

Newman Ranch House
David has to get a call, when Nikki walks into the house. He says that he told him it wasn't a good day. He says give him a break, there is no animal is a sure thing

Inside the house, Nikki is walking around. Sabrina is looking for the silver platters for the caterer and Nikki instructs her where they are. Sabrina says thanks. Nikki can handle the caterer, she worked with her many times. Sabrina wanted to help. Nikki appreciates that, she is sure Sabrina has other things to do. TGVN says that Sabrina is coming to the Christening with him. An unimpressed Nikki asks if Victoria knows that or did he inform her. TGVN says this is house and Victoria,Reed and JT enter. Victoria says no, they didn't inform her.

Nikki thinks he should have discussed this with Victoria, ahead of time. Victoria isn't surprised. JT retorts when Victoria decided not her not to be Reed's Godmother, they thought the message was clear. Victor bluntly says he invited Sabrina to stay. Nikki says he had no right to do that. TGVN barks

No, it's not okay. Please stay! This is his house, I damn well invited who I please

David says look into he ran too. Noah and Sharon. An awkward Sharon ask if they are early?
Victor asks what is that? Noah says it's a video camera. He tells Sabrina that he is Reed's cousin and is going to videotaping everything. Victor says Noah. LOL as Noah asked if she is the minister? Everyone laughs and Sabrina says no, she isn't. He asks who is she? JT explains that Sabrina is an old friend of Victoria. Victoria sort of sarcastic says she is friends with his Grandfather. Nikki ask if she is sure. Victoria isn't going to let her ruin her day. The tension could cut with a knife here. Good going, Victor. And if Sabrina didn't want to be there, she never should have stuck around.

Phyllis is very honored to be Reed's godmother. Victoria jokes that someone has to keep Nick in line LOL. Nick says just love the diaper, works with the ensemble. LOL as she throws it at him. Nick asks he knows why they asked him, because they think he will give up the family secret. Noah asks what is it? Nick says the Newman knuckle curve. Victoria hasn't heard it in years. Phyllis asks what is it? Nick says an ultra top secret--little man already knows how to throw it. JT asks for him to show. LOL as Noah said he would but then have to kill him. LOL. Nick says if that is his son, is that his son? Sabrina asks if Victoria has a minute. LOL as Phyllis, Nick and JT suddenly have to get a drink. BTW, I am glad that Phyllis and Nick lighten up the occasion by showing up. Phyllis can't believe that Sabrina actually showed up. JT says they roll with the punches.
Sabrina tells Victoria that she didn't want to make this awkward for her. Victoria coolly says if that is an apology, she accepts. Is that all! Sabrina says that's for Reed. Victoria says that's not necessary. Sabrina says she already bought the gift, when she asked. She opens the box and Sabrina says it's a silver rattle from that shop that she loved so much. Victoria then looks emotional for a minute, then coldly says she has to check on her son and walks. TGVN says that was very thoughtful as Sabrina looks disappointed.
David says TGVN's sensitivity has gone off the charts. Isn't that calling the kettle black here??se. Nikki says always has been. David says she handle it with grace

I think I liked him better when he was cutting out paper snowflakes.

And I am glad to see Paul as he hugs JT. It's been too long since we saw him. He remarks that place is crawling with Newman's, he could use a friend. Paul says he is here to represents all the days and night that he spent worrying about Reed and Victoria Look at him now. JT can't complain. Paul asks how is Reed. JT says that he is growing like crazy. Rolling around in crib and gets made that he can't roll back. He loves to look in the mirror. LOL as Paul said just like his Dad. JT adds he makes noises. Paul adds just like his Dad LOL. JT said look at him. Who thought he would be the guy that talks about the kids all the time. Paul says that he is proud and happy and he deserves him. JT appreciates it. Victor is glad to see Paul and shakes the hand. Paul says great day. Victor asks JT if Adam is coming. JT replies that he has some business meeting. TGVN thinks he works too hard. JT tells Paul privately how glad they are that Adam isn't coming.

Noah is filming JT/Victoria/Reed, then Nick/Sharon(waving) and David asks if he missed anything. Nikki notes that he keeps disappearing and what's with the phone. David is sorry, he was just trying to help. He told Jabot to don't bother her today, that he would field all question. Paul greets Nikki and asks if she is still loving the job. Nikki says yes. Paul says good for her, David says she doesn't like to brag, he'll do it for her. She is transforming the company; new ideas, new projects, ad campaigns. All good, brand new Jabot. Nikki smiles, he is little biased. David says it's not true, telling it as it. David ask is they wants drinks. Nikki gets her club soda and Paul declines. Paul tells Nikki that he got a lot of energy. Nikki says he is nervous not easy being surrounded by Newmans. Paul asks if things are well between two. Nikki says very. Paul says they should catch up sometime, Nikki would like that. It felt like their conservation was cryptic, like they wanted to talk about how Nikki doesn't quite trust David yet. Paul says call her office and have coffee. David returns with her drink and Nikki declines any more food.

Nick greets his Dad and Sabrina thanks him for the space of his building. She thinks opening day will be a special occasion. Nick is glad it's working. Sabrina says maybe they could open up the exhibition for a magazine shoot. Nick retorts that she doesn't think it was necessary, but glad she is here enjoy. Sabrina complains that she thought it was good idea. Victor thought it was a good idea but he is very rude. Sheesh All she has
to is whine and in order for TGVN to get what she wants.

The minister blessed the infant and his parents and grant them all the happiness a family can share. He wants the godparents to present Reed to receive the sacrament of baptism. Phyllis holds Reed, with Nick by her side. The minister tells them that pledging today to guide this child in faith. But their responsibilities isn't only spiritual, they will to set an example and be there for the rest of this lives. Phyllis speaks first. She admits that she isn't the most religious person. No offence, to the Minster. He says no problem.
She looked up godmothers on the internet, but all she could find was fairy godmothers LOL, she must have not looked very hard
She says sorry, this is going to come from her heart. She pledges to be always there for him. He is a beautiful boy and when needs a adult to talk to. It's not her parents, she will be there for morning, noon and night. Doesn't matter how old he is, doesn't matter where he is. She loves him very much and proud to be his godmother. Lovely speech by Phyllis.
Nick says they might not know that, but Vicki is a pack rat. She kept every notepad from school, starting from first grade. He knows that from dugging from the old storage unit and read them all. He talks about Victoria listing all the boys she likes(worthy of her attention) and girls like/dislike and everyone laughs. Family always meant so much to her. It was along road having one of her own. But now they know why, because she was unwilling to settle any but the best. Victoria smiles she got the best as Phyllis smiles. Nick says she picked the perfect name for Reed. He always dreamed they lived next to each other and their kids would grow up together. And she moved to Italy, and it's perfect. Now she lives down the road and how he always imagine it would. Nicks says she is taking a big chance, making him godfather. An emotional Victoria will chance that. Nick says her husband is a Sox fan and he is a big Cub fan. He says their gift to him, is a cub, smallest size possible. JT says he isn't wearing it. Nick will sway Reed, and him the error of his way and be a cub fan too. LOL Nick seriously says he is honored to be his godfather.

The minister then baptism Reed. Then we get to see a heartfelt montage featuring a re-recording of "Bless The Beast And The Children. It is sung by Laura Ann Wight, Michael Damaian's niece. More information here

We see Phyllis holding the baby. Then Cane and Lily holding their heads and hands together in grief. Sabrina looks like the odd duck out as Nikki and Victor are holding Reed. And I think hat Sabrina looked uncomfortable during the whole Christening.
Then we see Adam is alone and takes a picture of Hope He looks sad

Victor is holding Reed and brings her Sabrina, Nikki looks not happy, as David is by her side. Victoria takes Reed and sits by JT. Nikki really looks hurt as Victor kisses Sabrina. David sees there is another call and Paul notices

It was so heartbreaking as Lily ran to Neil and cried in his arms. Neil looks at a devastated Cane. That final scene just brought tears to my eyes as I heard "Keep the safe. keep them warm as Lily just looks heartbroken.
But I loved the Y&R classic monologue, so well done. And we saw the parellels of two couples today. One happy with their new baby, another couple devasted by losing their baby. Wonderful, Wonderful show today. Again Y&R proved why they are number one and the best!
