Those fortunate enough to be in New York City on March 21st, make a point to book that day for the 6th annual ABC Daytime & SOAPnet Salute Broadway Cares charity inside Town Hall. It’ll be a rare chance to enjoy many soap stars out of their acting element and onstage hoofing it up in musicals, song and dance numbers, and maybe some comedy. Host Cameron Mathison (Ryan) will liven the festivities up and introduce the following scheduled stars from his AMC show, among others: Susan Lucci (Erica), Bobbie Eakes (Krystal), Cornelius Smith Jr. (Frankie), Ricky Paull Goldin (Jake), Melissa Claire Egan (Annie), Rebecca Budig (Greenlee), and Adam Mayfield (Scott). Select OLTL and GH stars will also join in the fun. Cost ranges from $50 to $500.
Erica Kane, ConFusion, Fusion and the Chandlers will benefit from AMC’s cross-country move, starting February 2nd on TV – in terms of new or revised sets. While 90 percent of AMC’s NYC sets were preserved and shipped over, 10 percent are updates—mostly to reflect the West Coast environs. Erica will move from the Yacht Club to her own swanky penthouse, ConFusion/Fusion will replace and modernize with new lights and new paint, as will Adam’s mansion. AMC now films in the Andrita Studios of L.A.
There’s a lot going on exclusively for AMC fans in the show’s official Facebook page, from information about special VIP access to events, like the April 24-25th Stagecoach Music Festival to sneak-peeks into the show’s ongoing storylines.
Walt Willey (Jackson) returns in full force the week of February 8th, to possibly romance Erica away from Ryan and mend Greenlee’s broken heart by Ryan.
Alicia Minshew (Kendall) will also make a return of sorts, but not as lengthy as Willey’s. She already filmed her segment before AMC moved out of its NYC studios and is still on maternity leave. See Kendall do something on February 9.
Gossip for the week of 01-Feb-2010
If all goes well in the soap world, Jackson will have more than a few sharp things to point at Ryan for doing Erica at Greenlee’s expense. The end result, fans hope, will be a Jack/Erica and Ryan/Greenlee reunion.
Cady McClain (Dixie) will only be back in spirit for Tad, and then, only for five shows.
