News for the week of 08-Jun-2009
by Carol Banks Weber
Chrishell Stause (Amanda) is hot commodity in daytime, and I think she knows it. She’s been expertly Twittering like mad, mentioning her second AMC extension through the end of 2009. Stause told the soap media recently that she researched for the delivery scenes (to air this week) by hitting up all moms in the hair/makeup/wardrobe departments for their takes. Her research must’ve paid off, because word on the street is she delivered an Emmy-winning performance.
Kelly Ripa (ex-Hayley) and Mark Consuelos (ex-Mateo) are set to co-host a new reality show on TLC, but unfortunately, it’s not about their lives (dammit). Instead, it’s about helping everyday women achieve business success, from the brainstorm process to the final product to be featured on HSN. Open casting takes place June 9-10 at New York’s Double Tree Metropolitan Hotel, with Ripa in attendance for the first day. Milojo is the couple’s production company which inked the deal with TLC.

A reader e-mailed that Andrew Astor will not take over the SORAS’d Spike role, despite his allegedly Twittering as such. Apparently you can’t even find his Twitter page.
