News for the week of 15-Sep-2008

Alicia Minshew’s (Kendall) imminent wedding plans leaves BFF Rebecca Budig (Greenlee) and just about all the rest of the AMC cast members out. But before you go assuming catfight, it’s not that Minshew doesn’t want Budig there. It’s just that she and her fiancé Richie Herschenfeld have agreed to keep their purple-themed wedding by candlelight small and intimate, with just very close family members around them (as well as her father, the priest, and a rabbi, to officiate). There is one AMC cast member who will be there, but in an official capacity—her friend Cameron Mathison (Ryan), as photographer. Minshew said she loved what he did with Budig’s wedding photos, and he was touched by her invitation. Anyway, after the small, intimate October 26th wedding set in New York, Minshew and her newly wedded husband will host a post-wedding party for all of their friends, AMC’s cast included.
Walt Willey’s (Jackson) 13-year-old son Chance was able to appear on the show as part of a crowd of Fusion interns. Because he looked older than his age, like he could totally pass for a 20-something guy, Chance got the gig. Not only that, but he and his dad were able to complete their scenes for the day by 6:30 p.m., while the rest of the required cast had another half of the workload to complete. Willey had asked Associate Casting Director Bob Lambert if his son could join him in the ConFusion scenes as an extra. Chance had been in town with the rest of Willey’s clan (they run a New Mexico B&B, btw) for a visit.
Vincent Irizarry brings David back, October 23. Needless to say, Irizarry is stoked about his AMC return. When last he left, David wasn’t doing so well. In the actor’s learned opinion, David had become a shell of his former bad and complicated self. Irizarry is looking forward to a new and improved David, and mingling with the cast again. He jokingly remarked several weeks ago that his on-screen daughter Babe looks different, and that a lot’s changed since David left.

Nerdy, computer nebbish Pete strikes me as just a tad copycat-ish of GH’s Spinelli. Portrayer Daniel Kennedy is trying his best to be an earnest, wacky oddball, but to me, it’s just trying too hard to be Bradford Anderson.
There’s a blind item going around that a major actress’s return went south and so she has to make a hasty exit. Whoever this major actress is, her return story wasn’t done well enough to sustain her stay. Could be OLTL’s Andrea Evans (Tina), could be the “real Greenlee,” Rebecca Budig.
Speaking of botched returns, looks like AMC’s PTB may bring Cady McClain’s Dixie back to coincide with Vincent Irizarry’s David coming back. They’ll explain Dixie’s death by tainted pancakes as having been faked by David all along, thus undoing a terrible wrong.
