News for the week of 23-Sep-2013

by Carol Banks Weber

Alicia Minshew (Kendall), Ricky Paull Goldin (ex-Jake), Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy, OLTL), and more AMC/OLTL soap stars are on tap for the annual Make A Wish Foundation’s Tails N Tots fundraiser, October 12, 7 p.m.-10 p.m., at New York City’s Prohibition. Tickets go for $65 per person, which includes one drink. Tickets are limited to 45.

Soap Opera Digest online and Prospect Park will team up to provide AMC/OLTL fans with another option for watching the first season, which wrapped up a few weeks ago. They can simply head to SOD’s website.

Cady McClain (Dixie) unveiled her new film as a first-time director. The short film, Flip Fantasia, is an urban love story and a dark comedy about “friendship, letting go, and growing up,” which the actress also wrote and produced. It’s also a life lesson for the younger generation having to deal with so much growing up.

Jordan Lane Price (Celia) and her friends received the thumbs-down from X-Factor judges last week, after auditioning as an all-female singing group, Drama Drama—inspired by the Spice Girls. Instead of spicy, judge Simon Cowell & Co. called them old fashioned.
