Prospect Park may have even approached AMC’s lead actress Susan Lucci (ex-Erica) for this deal. An alleged friend of hers told Showbiz 411’s Roger Friedman that nobody was supposed to know yet about the initial talks. Good luck getting Lucci, who’s moved onto other acting vehicles. Friedman suggested this could also be a front, to make Prospect Park look sincere. “… it’s possible Prospect Park is just faking it to extend their license arrangement. ABC might like the shows back now considering their alternative programming has failed. General Hospital is booming. And really, the only thing network execs know is success. Soaps, which they trashed for years, are looking good again.”
