In a way, AMC’s idiots in charge dropped the ball bigtime by refusing to allow Taylor Miller to reprise Nina last year when she asked them to. She so wanted to act opposite an ailing James Mitchell (Palmer). She knew about his failing health and thought the world of the movie actor veteran who played her dad on the soap. Now, it’s too late. Mitchell passed on last week Friday of complications with his heart, brought on by pneumonia.
It was a long time coming, but patient Vanessa Mathison got her a honeymoon with husband and actor Cameron (Ryan) after all these years. Seven. He’s been so busy with work, juggling one acting job or another hosting job, that he hadn’t had time to fit her in. They recently went away together, just the two of them, and enjoyed that honeymoon in the Maldives so much, it got him wondering what took him so long.
One of the first actors from AMC who will praise guest stars Mark Consuelos (Mateo) and wife Kelly Ripa’s (Hayley) brief return – for the 40th anniversary episodes – is someone who never knew them from back in the golden days of great soap opera writing. Melissa Claire Egan (Annie) could just tell immediately that these two stars meant the world to the cast and crew, just by the way everybody reacted to them and the way they carried themselves. It also helps that she saw firsthand, as a longtime AMC fan, why they were so special. Additionally, “[w]e see [Kelly] every day because we watch LIVE WITH REGIS AND KELLY in the makeup room,” Egan explained. “Of course, getting to have catty scenes with Kelly was especially fun! We got along so well. She said, ‘I can tell, if I still worked here, we’d be best friends!’” –Soap Opera Digest, January 19, 2010
Adam Mayfield (Scott) favored American Idol contestant Constantine Maroulis (of them all). Maroulis was on B&B and is now killing it in the Broadway musical, Rock Of Ages. The musical was what really did it for Mayfield.
The reason for Rebecca Budig’s (Greenlee) dramatically darker hair color upon her recent return can be chalked up to problems with the lightening attempt.

Unless they do away with the deadweights and give real stories to the legends, this show might as well have stayed in NYC and then been canned. Why are they wasting Jesse and Angie this way?
