ABC Daytime has launched another on-air campaign designed to lure a new audience, as well as stroke the old one. Called “Take A Look Now,” the multi-million-dollar campaign features 60-second, pop music-soundtracked spots focusing on various soap stories about to unfold.
With the success of her web series, Imaginary Bitches, and blog, Eden Riegel (Bianca) said it was time to make another AMC show. Riegel also cited the fact that Erica was in prison all these months with nary a Binks mention. That ain’t right. What’s definitely right by Riegel and tons of AMC fans is the presence of a new girlfriend for Bianca in the form of Tamara Braun’s Reese. Riegel stated that she is a huge Braun fan from her Carly-on-GH period. “She is an awesome talent and stunningly beautiful. Bianca deserves no less!” Bam fans, of course, would’ve preferred Bianca return with Elizabeth Hendrickson’s Maggie in tow as the girlfriend. “But Lizzie’s been so successful on Y&R [as Chloe Ashby], and is so obviously happy there, I am hoping they are able to embrace this pairing for the time being. Hey, at least she’s a woman. And maybe sometime down the road the show would be able to entice Lizzie back for a visit to Pine Valley. I do have pull with the little munchkin [she’s also on Imaginary Bitches]. I bet I could get her to do it,” Riegel said. –Daytime Confidential, September 22, 2008
Dancing With The Stars’ seventh season premiered last Monday with a bang, and Susan Lucci’s (Erica) still in contention. Her debut was met with gentle criticism by the three judges. Carrie Ann Inaba suggested Lucci strengthen her body and actually gain weight. The other judges, Bruno Tonioli and Len Goodman, commented on her choppy, hesitant dance moves. But on the second day of the debut, the judges were kinder and said Lucci had improved. Did you catch Jesse McCartney (ex-JR) singing on the third segment?
It’s gonna be a jolt for Vincent Irizarry (David; ex-David Chow, Y&R) switching from Y&R’s luxurious dressing room suites to AMC’s basic cells without windows. When he was on Y&R, during the breaks, Irizarry was able to get a lot of TV news-watching done, CNN, CNBC, and even squeeze in some cable on Showtime for God’s sakes…not to mention his own shower and bathroom. Then, there’s the added bonus of peeking in on other shows like The Price Is Right, Dancing With The Stars, the Bill Maher show—all filmed on the same premises. Well, at least there’s ABC’s talk show, The View, which AMC has got going for it. “I definitely take advantage of that. I used to go watch the rehearsals of the bands that came on; it was like a private concert,” Irizarry said. –Soap Opera Digest, September 30, 2008
Petey doesn’t exactly turn into a superhero after a lightning bolt slams into him. But he does feel as if he’s a different, more confident stud of a man, which does translate to Colby in her perception that he’s no longer a geek. My bad in originally reporting in Scoops & Spoilersthat he is transformed, ala Heroes… although, that’d be a cool story to tell.
Jake’s wife Carolyn will soon hit the airwaves, once casting finds the right actress to re-play her.
Even though the 2nd premiere of Justin Bruening’s (ex-Jamie) Knight Rider received lukewarm response from the TV critics, friend Chrishell Stause (Amanda) remains a big fan.

Amanda Baker (Babe II) has been supposedly sitting on news of her ouster for about a month so far. When a tornado blasts through the fictional town of Pine Valley, Babe as we know her will perish in the rubble, leaving a bereft JR to grieve the loss of the only woman he has ever loved.
