It’s about freakin’ time soap actors be allowed to actively and collectively participate in the building of a brand-new home for a worthy family. Finally, most of the GH cast will work on “The House That GH Fans Built” December 12 in a joint venture with Hollywood For Habitat For Humanity. They are: Brandon Barash (Johnny), Lisa LoCicero (Olivia), Jane Elliot (Tracy), Bradford Anderson (Spinelli), Kirsten Storms (Maxie), Nathan Parsons (Ethan), Jason Thompson (Patrick), Lexi Ainsworth (Kristina), Julie Marie Berman (Lulu), Nancy Lee Grahn (Alexis), Ronnie Marmo (Ronnie), and Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic). Fans have a chance to help by donating money and bidding in online auctions (including a chance to build the house alongside the cast members).
It’s been 10 years away from GH, but Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) has picked up where he left off quite nicely. It helps to reunite with such co-stars as Tony Geary (Luke), Rebecca Herbst (Elizabeth) and Tyler Christopher (Nikolas). It also helps that Jackson has done much film and TV work. That informs his return portrayal as Lucky, who’s had a lot of growing up to do. “A lot of stuff is subconscious, but I do feel that 10 years of doing other things and growing up and having a family and all that, I think that subconsciously plays a part in terms of the newer dynamics of things,” Jackson told Soap Opera Digest (online) reporter Tom Stacy. “That's all under the surface, but everything still seems very connected.” When pressed, Jackson named Genie Francis (ex-Laura), naturally, Maurice Benard (Sonny) and Julie Marie Berman (Lulu) as some other actors he’d dig working opposite. But then, he added, everybody on the show fits that category, they’re all mad-talented. It was during this interview that Jackson’s “edgy,” intense indie with Nick Stahl (from Terminator 3), Kalamity, came up. Expect to see the indie making rounds soon. Jackson’s band Enation with his brother is also due for an album release during the holidays. Enation also has a Twitter page.
For GH fans who aren’t busy trying to fit in with the vocal haters loving themselves in the circle jerk boards, Jonathan Jackson’s return as the original Lucky has been an acting boon. Jackson and his mentor/friend Anthony Geary (Luke) talked about it in some depth with AOL-TV recently. When Jackson took over the role from recast Greg Vaughan a few weeks ago, viewers saw a discernible shift in the portrayal—from a gung-ho, straight-shooting cop, to a thoughtful, almost reluctant acceptance of this law-abiding role. Considering the Luke-and-Laura-on-the-run-from-the-mob lineage, the reluctance makes more sense. “I think my instincts towards him being a detective [include] ambiguity,” affirmed Jackson. “Growing up as Luke's son, and given Luke's ties to the mob, Lucky's seen the world from both sides. I don't think that Lucky sees it as black and white. There are shades of gray.” Geary couldn’t have agreed more, adding that Jackson’s ability to play the shades of gray makes the discernible shift all the more exciting to play and play off of. “Not a lot of actors are able to do that. Conflict is what acting thrives on. If you have inner-conflict, you've got a very interesting and rich character going on. What you're seeing in Lucky [now] is the ambiguity; a man trying to reconcile differences.”
Tony Geary (Luke) and Jonathan Jackson (Lucky) both made it clear that they would welcome the return of Genie Francis (ex-Laura) to GH, to make the family dynamic complete. In the above AOL interview, Geary indicated that it might very well happen now that Jackson’s back as the original Lucky. And in an ET Online bit, they brought up the hope again. Geary also previewed that the Nikolas/Elizabeth liaison will soon come out and cause even more friction within the family, which he’s looking forward to.
Besides knowing how to throw together leftover tacos for a nifty new twist on tortilla soup, Lisa LoCicero (Olivia) is pretty handy with makeup fixes, especially given her line of work. Wearing thick makeup for the show can take a toll, pimples and the like. She said she’s always on the lookout for good makeup for the face. She likes the “new mineral makeup. … Bare Escentuals and Clinique. … Proactiv” for pimples, and Thevi lipsticks. –Soap Opera Digest, November 10, 2009
Dominic Zamprogna (Dominic) wed longtime girlfriend Linda Leslie on November 1st at Hollywood’s Griffith Park. It wasn’t a large affair.
Bergen Williams (Alice) did not start off wanting the center spotlight as some actress. She went to California to pursue a writing career and wound up writing with and for Joe Bologna and Renee Taylor as a live-in “writing slave [laughs]… I was there 24 hours a day. They’d bang on my bedroom door at 2 o’clock in the morning and say, ‘We’re ready to write,’ and I’d get into their giant bed with them with my pen and paper and take notes.” On a less-odd note, Bologna spurred Williams to keep writing, saying that she had it in her to write at least five flicks, as well as doing her own life story. –Soap Opera Digest, November 10, 2009
Gossip for the week of 09-Nov-2009

It’s starting to resemble a Y&R porno without the hot hook-ups. Jason and Sam will have a major falling out, because of the drama surrounding Elizabeth (where’d she go?) and the turmoil to her children. Lucky and Elizabeth break up because of her whoring around with Nikolas who’s gone off the deep end. Lucky maintains custody of Elizabeth’s children out of spite, and Jason knows it. Lucky may wind up in Maxie’s orbit again, threatening her good thing with Spinelli. Jason rescues Elizabeth, and Sam reverts to type. Sam notices the new character James Franco takes on. The two of them hook up. Look for this reversal to wrap up and do everybody in by December. By February of next year, Guza will have successfully massacred Patrick and Robin’s marriage. –SD/Daytime Dish
Nikolas breaks down and breaks his affair with Elizabeth down to Rebecca, who takes her permanent leave. –Kali, SOS insider
