First off, rest easy Kish fans: Kyle will not marry Nick, he’ll be with Fish. And, it’ll be pretty public in a romantic soapy way. After Fish made Kyle swoon by coming out in front of a crowd of angry, homophobic protesters, the two finally come together and accept what they’ve tried to deny. It’s true love. It won’t be an immediate white-picket-fence, though, even with Roxy trying to rush them into marriage, Scott Evans (Fish) told TV Guide columnist Michael Logan. “The guys both realize they should probably go on a date first. After everything that’s gone on between them, there’s no way they’re about to put a ring on it just yet. But, yeah, they decide to be a couple and even that won’t be easy because something always comes up—no pun intended. … We gotta take it one step at a time. I hope we’re shattering [the notion] that gay guys can’t wait to get into bed. That’s a stereotype. They’ll be spending time together when they can. He comes over to Fish’s place for Thanksgiving. It’s all very, very sweet. It’ll be nice to see the relationship develop.”
Evans uplifted the fans who’ve put Kish’s love story in YouTube video clips, keeping the popularity of this couple alive beyond soap boundaries. With such growing popularity, it’s hard to believe homophobia still exists in society today, especially for Evans. He never had a problem coming out to his mom, but he knows of gay friends who’ve had their parents say, “I hate you.” The news keeps coming out about the prevalence of gay bashings. And then there are blogs written by closed-minded people bashing the gay stories on TV. Evans just can’t believe this. “I’m like ‘Are you blind?’ Are you not living in the same world I’m living in? Because gays are all over primetime. They’re all over the news with ‘Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell’ and the fight for equality,” Evans said. “I hate to break it to you Midwest, but there are gay people all over the United States! What’s wild in my life right now is that my uncle, Mike Capuano, is the congressman for the 8th Congressional District in Massachusetts and he’s currently running to fill Ted Kennedy’s vacated seat. He is a huge, huge supporter of gay marriage and equal rights—that’s a big part of his campaign—and a lot of people are coming forward to back him. Barney Frank is his No. 1 booster. I’m going to be working with him over the next few months. It’s crazy how my worlds are colliding. Real life and my TV life are all tying together and that’s really pretty cool!” –TV Guide Magazine, “One Life to Live's ‘Kish’ Makes It Official” by Michael Logan, October 26, 2009
Even though Gina Tognoni (Kelly) doesn’t know what TPTB have planned for her returning OLTL character, she isn’t worried an iota. She said she trusts them implicitly. She does know that Kelly’s gonna stir it up a bit. Before she goes back to OLTL in January, Tognoni has some free time to audition, volunteer for charity and just relish being a married woman, with “plenty of family to go visit.” –Daytime Confidential, October 28, 2009
Forbes March (ex-Nash) indicated that he wasn’t happy with the way his character was being portrayed months before the final end. Wrapping Nash and Jessica together with a bow was the final death-knell, in his opinion. He even tried to convince executive producer Frank Valentini to write him out and how to do so way beforehand. And yet, he has nothing but kind things to say about the wonderful, understanding Valentini, plus, he’d return to OLTL to maybe play out Nash’s return (not gonna happen; it’s Mitch Laurence, not Nash haunting Jessica). I don’t understand actors at all.
March also came thisclose to reprising AMC’s Scott. But it was not to be. They went with a new actor. He said he doesn’t understand the process himself.
March did approve of the writers using his heart idea (it was his idea to draw a heart before he died with Jessica nearby, and it almost didn’t air) in this Nash stalker story.
Fans who have noticed OLTL characters specifically pointing out name brands of Hershey candy now have a reason for the rampant commercialization as of late. It’s a cross-promotional agreement between Hershey and OLTL, ala product placement.

Look for more characters to fall by the wayside, with Mitch Laurence as the ax-wielder.
