Brian Kerwin’s (Charlie) son Finn once met movie/music star J.Lo and her dog at a McDonald’s in between filming Jack, but he was too young to remember. So when he was old enough, like around 11, assuming his dad never worked with her, he gave Kerwin a hard time. But Kerwin had to remind Finn that he did work with her and “you petted her dog.” Right after that, Finn made sure all his buddies heard the real deal straight from his dad’s mouth. –Soap Opera Digest, August 12, 2008
A Martinez (Ray Montez; ex-Roy, GH) will co-star in the Lifetime Movie Network’s premiere, Little Girl Lost, to air August 17, 8 p.m. Martinez plays a good guy, State Representative Angel Cruz, in the story of a mom’s search for her missing daughter.
Ray will turn out to be uncle to Langston and a force to contend with when battling Dorian and Clint in business. Portrayer Martinez is pumped up to join a soap with Robert S. Woods (Bo) on the roster. He’s a fan.
An OLTL primetime spinoff on SOAPnet has been shelved until the foreseeable future, with discussion about the project on the books next year. ABC Daytime president Brian Frons said OLTL just has too much going on right now, with the anniversary special and on-location shoots.
Dewanda Wise (Julianna) was made full-time by TPTB. She appeared at Rodi’s last week to be with Vincent when he was with Layla.
Catherine Hickland (Lindsay) may be out of sight – her character was pinched for Spencer’s homicide – but she’ll be back, maybe not on contract but still recurring.
Gossip for the week of 11-Aug-2008
Ray Montez, a new character given to A Martinez, could also be related to the Vegas. SoapTown USAcolumnist Jeremy in Chicago speculated, in his August 4th’s “A Mendorra Sized Migraine,” that Ray could turn out to be Antonio and Cristian’s dad, but added that that would make no sense. Why start making sense now, though? Jeremy went on to belabor his previous column’s points of a) the Vegas sucking and wishing them a quick getaway, b) the Mendorra and 1968 stories sucking with its bad acting, bad casting, and/or bad, twisted logic, and c) Marty and Todd not by any means sucking. He did raise many logical points that will most assuredly pass by TIIC, such as… what are they gonna do when Marty realizes Todd is the Todd who gang-raped her and that’s not Todd’s face? Read on, my brethren.
