News for the week of 11-Feb-2013

by Carol Banks Weber

Robin Strasser (Dorian) tweeted February 4 that Prospect Park’s online OLTL will begin filming March 11. The rest of her tweet is incomprehensible as usual.

Director Jill Mitwell won the 65th annual DGA Award in the daytime category February 2. Her episode, “Between Heaven and Hell,” nabbed her the fourth DGA (she’s been nominated nine total times).

Robert S. Woods (Bo) digs the shorter, less intense work schedule of the Prospect Park online reboot. In the February 11th Soap Opera Digest, he said the cast will hit the studio five weeks straight, then take off five-six weeks. This is much better, “[e]specially compared to what it was, because that's what burned me out. We were doing four shows in a day and that's just too much for an old guy like me.”

Ilene Kristen (ex-Roxy) previews her upcoming debut solo album and dishes the OLTL dirt at the February 16, noon-3 p.m. Prohibition mixer in NYC. She won’t be alone, either. Her co-host is Lea DeLaria (ex-Madame Delphina). They’ll welcome a guest star as well for the afternoon cocktail party in NYC’s Upper West Side. Some of the money raised will benefit the victims of Hurricane Sandy. Cost to meet and mingle is $100. This also includes a Q&A, chance at raffles, and an open bar.

While Roger Howarth (Todd), Michael Easton (John), and Kristen Alderson (Starr) were ordered off GH, it is for a brief time. They’ll soon return to GH to stay. Although, judging by Easton’s latest Facebook entry, IF IT WAS THE LAST TIME (February 8), he’s not so sure.
