News for the week of 25-Feb-2013
by Carol Banks Weber
Prospect Park chose soap newcomer Laura Harrier as the Destiny recast. Harrier comes from a significant modeling background. Soap Opera Network’s Errol Lewis broke the news February 20: “Harrier is a New-York based international model represented by Muse NYC. The Chicago native has shot campaigns for American Eagle, Target, and L’Oreal and has been photographed for such magazines as Glamour, Elle, and Cosmopolitan.”
Amidst some fan furor that Prospect Park’s casting department unceremoniously replaced Shenell Edmonds’ Destiny with a skinnier (read: sexier) version, the original actress set the record straight. Edmonds posted on her Facebook page that she turned down Prospect Park’s offer after they couldn’t reach an agreement that would fit her school schedule.
Prospect Park appointed Jared Kaplan (ex-writer’s associate/intern, OLTL; WWE) to associate producer of the online OLTL recently.

When Roger Howarth (Todd) was set to return to OLTL for its new online launch, TPTB was considering several actors for a recast. Not Trevor St. John (ex-Todd/Victor). “According to Howarth’s management team, Prospect Park had narrowed a recast of Todd down to two actors before ultimately signing a deal with Howarth that allows him to film at ‘OLTL’ for four weeks before ultimately returning to ‘GH’ full-time,” reported Soap Opera Network’s Errol Lewis February 19.
