News for the week of 20-Oct-2014
by Carol Banks Weber
This Friday (October 24), Gina Tognoni (Phyllis), Scott Elrod (Joe Clark), Burgess Jenkins (Billy), and Justin Hartley (Adam) go on CBS’s The Talk to plug the latest stories. Hartley appears as the recast Adam on November 5.
Max Ehrich (Fen) hasn’t been on much as Michael and Lauren’s son, but that’s alright. He’s on a lot of other TV shows, including Under The Dome as a ongoing character, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as a guest star, playing a rapist — October 22 airdate, and most recently, a new character on a new Nickelodeon series, 100 Things To Do Before High School, airing in January. “It’s a single camera comedy and heartfelt, and a special show,” Ehrich told Michael Fairman for an October 17th interview. “I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it’s a cool show. I guess I am funny in it, because people were laughing! (laughs) I was a bit confused when I got cast in the part, because I never really thought of myself as funny. So I was wondering … why I got this role. (laughs)” Ehrich even reappears on the soap several times, visiting his parents from college, especially for Thanksgiving.
Julianne Morris Polaha (Amy Wilson, circa 1994-1996) returns next month after a daytime absence to raise her family.
Kristoff St. John (Neil) and Victoria Rowell (ex-Dru) may never reunite on Y&R, but they will for a new UPtv movie, Marry Us For Christmas! The sequel to last year’s Marry Me For Christmas will air December 7, 7 p.m. ET.
While Mishael Morgan (Hilary) demurred on her favorite pairing, the actress did give some insight into her motivation opposite both Neil and Devon. Neil’s Kristoff St. John suspected TPTB might go there. Morgan was taken by surprise and had to do a quick adjustment in how her character viewed Neil. She told Daytime Confidential’s Jamey Giddens in an October 13th interview that St. John helped her. “Thankfully, Kristoff was a great sounding board to bounce ideas off. After a few discussions with him, I decided to play the truth of the situation; people fall in love everyday with people they never expected. Learning to navigate through the unexpected… That’s life and art!” Morgan also saw Hilary’s daddy issues as a major motivation, referencing her crush for older man Jack.

Michael Muhney (ex-Adam) could appear on DOOL taking over for EJ, after James Scott left, which is what Hollywood News Daily’s saying (via the Inquisitr). But rumors also suggest EJ only appeared to be shot.
