Last week, soap fans learned that the 39th annual Daytime Emmys would air on cable channel HLN (Headline News), June 23, 8 p.m.-10 p.m. EST. It’ll be a cable first and will include AMC and OLTL tributes.
Picking the episode where Chloe learns her daughter has leukemia was a no-brainer for first-time Emmy nominee Elizabeth Hendrickson. That episode did the trick. “I got to show a lot of range, and also got to work with some great supporting actors who were in those scenes. If anything, it was my supporting actors who supported me through the entire shooting day, and the writing. It was just all wrapped up in a neat little package.” Hendrickson can’t wait to shop for the best outfit for the Daytime Emmy Awards occasion. Michael Muhney (Adam) tweeted last week that he and his wife Jaime are expecting another baby, due November 10. The baby will join Muhney’s children Dylan, 10, and Ella, four.

TPTB realize Y&R’s cast is way too big to deal with. But their plan is to wipe out a lot of fan favorites, according to the Soap Whisperer, who tweeted about it on May 24. “It basically is an inside battle. Some want to cut cast and others do not. Who will win? Think many are safe as long as MAB is in charge”
