News for the week of 29-Apr-2013

by Carol Banks Weber

Jeanne Cooper (Katherine) improved enough with her health to check out of the hospital recently. She was admitted over a week ago due to an infection. But not much else is known about her convalescence other than she was unconscious for a time before waking up. The veteran actress will recover completely at home.

Michael Muhney (Adam) signed a new contract for three more years, “until at least June 2015. Lots of ‘Adam’ to come.”

Kristoff St. John (Neil) found a side gig as CJ, the First Lady’s ex-boyfriend, on BET’s CentricTV sitcom, The First Family.

Shi Ne Nielson (Detective Sheryl Gordon) starts partnering up with Det. Alex, May 2. The actress has done a considerable amount of TV, film, and theater, including Grey’s Anatomy, Clear Lake, WI, and E.R.

Ann Magnuson (Making Mr. Right, Panic Room) appears as a guest star May 17, playing Madame Miranda, a psychic.

When Phyllis went off to Istanbul with Jack, fans worried her portrayer went off the show for good. No such luck. She’s still going strong, front burner as ever. Since she’s the darling of Y&R, why not simply give her more to do, make up several new characters for her to play with? Maybe she should’ve played her sister Avery. Just sayin’.

An Emmy should go to Michael Muhney (Adam) for that confrontation scene with Dylan and Chelsea, then later with a concerned Victor. No words. The actor was practically levitating.
