One Life to Live Update for Tuesday, 26-Jul-2005

Sicko boy, Hayes takes Marcie with him to the "holding place" where he has what looks like many people sitting in chairs in a circle. He tells them that now the Killing Club is complete now that she's there with them. She is horrified and notices somebody whom she assumes is Natalie. She goes up to a female with long red hair, turns her around to face her and asks Natalie if she is alright. She then discovers a manikin. She freaks.

Jessica as Tess is getting set up in her new place with Nash.

Evangeline confesses to Layla that she hears and sees and feels John with her when she sleeps but knows he is unavailable. Layla tells Evangeline she can sense that John loves her back. Evangeline says be that as it may, she cannot be concerned about that when he is in love with Natalie.

Adriana goes with Antonio to his apartment and discovers a bra. Knowing that Jessica has been gone a while, she assumes he's been cheating on her. He confesses that a new bartender at Capricorn, Layla Williamson, needed a place to stay. She implies that she's concerned that he may have slept with her. He confirms he did not. He asks her what she's doing with Rex. She assures him that she is not "interested" in Rex. He's just a friend to her. She's in love with Duke Buchanan. She also inquires to her brother that she thought he liked Rex. Antonio confirms that he does but he knows that trouble seems to follow Rex wherever he goes and he tells his little sister he does not want her anywhere around Rex.

In the "secret place" with Hayes Barber, Marcie protests to Hayes that he has a life and a career and good things in his life that he cannot throw away by doing what he now plans to do. He tells her that even after changing his face and body and name, he still has nothing. He reminds her that he got plastic surgery, set up by Michael. Then he met her and encouraged her and lifted her spirits by getting her book published. ANd she did not even appreciate it. She protests that she did. He reminds her that she fired him. She blew him off. ANd all her friends from the love crew looked down their noses upon him. She indicates that he did something to Rex and possibly to Nick Marciano from the love crew.

Antonio tells Adriana that he really misses his brother, Cristian and believes it's really unfortunate that she could not have gotten to know cristian better. But he tells her he's glad he's got a nagging little sister to look out for him. He tells her they should leave and go to Rhodi's

John and Bo send the uniform cops to go out and find Hayes Barber. They then talk to Hugh Hughes to ask what he knows about Marcie or Barber. Hugh talks about helping Marcie the other night when she was drunk. They ask what he knows about Barber. He says he thought Hayes was in the clear and would not have let Marcie go off with him if he thought he was a killer. He asks them if they are implying that he had something to do with Marcie's disappearance. John asks him to tell him if that is, in fact, the case.

Antonio and Adriana ask Evangeline what she knows about Barber with Marcie. Evangeline admits that she saw them leave together and regrets it now that Marcie is missing. Layla is also there. Evangeline introduces her to Adriana. Adriana concludes that she knows that Layla is the girl who spent the night with her brother.

Hayes takes Marcie to see Rex tied up and gagged. She protests to Hayes taht Rex is just like them. He laughs at her for saying that and tells her she must know that kids like both of them hated guys like Rex is high school. He goes and taunts Rex with his back turned to Marcie. She then goes up behind Hayes, hits him with a stick and knocks him over. She then goes to free Rex. But Hayes comes to again.

Nash tells Tess that he has some land in California. A wine field. He tells her it's God's country. You can see the stars at night. ANd he wants to build a winery there. ANd the stock deals are for a deposit on the land. Knowing he's lost the money, she asks him if he family can help. He tells her that's not an option because he's on his own. She tells him she sees him as just like her. He knows how to get what he wants. He tells her that in fifteen minutes he will give her a surprise and leads her out the door.

Layla admits to Adriana that she spent the night with her brother. And she will move in for good after they shop for the baby's furniture. She then admits she's kidding. Antonio and Evangeline go and leave them alone. Adriana tells Layla she has nothing personally against her. But she's concerned about her brother because he's been through a lot with his girlfriend. Layla says she has nothing to worry about and realizes that Adriana is only looking out for her brother. ANd she'd do the same if it were Evangeline.

Antonio talks privately to Evangeline about Hayes Barber and how he left with Marcie. The bartender says he remembered the new ADA, Hugh Hughes going home with Marcie.

John and Bo ask Hugh about his lunch with Marcie when Hayes Barber interrupted them and left to go and sign something with her. He asks them why they suspect him of anything since he is in the DA's office. Bo tells him that being a DA is not exactly a "reigning endorsement" these days.

Hayes is ready to hurt Marcie and tells her that after all he did for her, when he thought the two of them could be on the same team, she's betrayed him. He tells her he'd like to choke her. She asks him what he's going to do. He tells her it's what she's going to do. He leads her to Nick Marciano. She tells Nick he must call the police. She notices Nick has a gun. Hayes then introduces Marcie to the "killing club killer".

After hearing the bartender's suspicion about Hugh, Evangeline tells Antonio she could not imagine Hugh guilty of foul play because he's a DA. Antonio reminds her so was Daniel Colson. Evangeline goes to tell her sister that she will go back to the station and Antonio will be there to look out for her. When Evangeline goes out the door, she notices something suspicious on the ground. It looks like the cloth that Barber used to chloroform Rex.

After questioning Hugh, Bo and John conclude that they do not believe that Hugh is their guy. ANd unfortunately that leaves them right back at square one. Right then, Marcie's brother, Ron enters and demands to know why cops are crawling all around his home.

Hayes has Nick knock Rex out. Marcie asks Nick why he'd do that to Rex. Hayes tells her that she must not blame Nick. It was he who is writing the story not Nick. Hayes then tells a story about a high school jock (Nick) accidentally murdering his own true love (Julie Tanaka). Hayes tells Nick that he can manipulate him into killing many people, such as Natalie Vega. Marcie tries to urge Nick not to let Hayes manipulate him. There must be a way for them to work together to get out of this situation.

Nash shows Tess his wine collection. He tells her he's been saving it for special occasions. She tries some and drinks impulsively as though it was a shot of tequila. He explains to her that wine is meant to be sipped different than shot glasses of booze. She tells him that is why she does not like wine.

Nick tells Marcie that Hayes promised to give him a new name and face and identity just like he got. ANd he's afraid that without it, he's going to go to prison for Julie's death. Nick seems to know what Marcie had better not say to Hayes in order not to set him off and make him dangerous.

At the police station, John and Bo inform Ron Walsh that Marcie is missing. Ron gets very upset about how the police have failed to do their job when his sister may be with a murderer.

Antonio concludes that Rex might be in danger. He goes to inform Adriana and Layla that the last time anybody saw Rex, he was with Marcie and the killer.

Outside, Evangeline recognizes Rex's watch.

Nash gives Tess a "lesson" in sipping wine. She seems interested in learning.

Evangeline calls a cop to identify what she remembers as the cloth used to drug her at the Woman of the Year Ceremony. Adriana comes out and identifies Rex's watch, on the ground right by it. They conclude that they'd better call John McBain.

Marcie tells Hayes he will not get away with what he is doing. He tells her she must realize that this is his story and he is now the author. Nick comes out and confirms that he will cooperate with Hayes so he can get out of town. Hayes tells Marcie that he will now rewrite the new killing club.
