One Life to Live Update for Wednesday, 27-Jul-2005

John informs Michael that Marcie is missing, was last seen leaving Rodi’s with Hayes Barber, and has not been seen since.

Roxanne goes to see Viki and confesses that she was not a good mother to Natalie. She admits that Natalie took better care of her than she took of Natalie. Viki tells Roxanne that she knows she loves Natalie and Natalie loves her. They both share the concern for their missing daughter. Just then Roxie gets an anonymous phone call about somebody needing Rex’s toothbrush. She has no clue what that is about.

At the “holding place”, Hayes Barber tells Marcie that he remembers her club in high school. He asks her what someone had to do in order to be considered for membership. She remembers that they had to “plan” a murder. He tells her that now he has his own club that she has to pledge for. And he tells her that his requirements is that she has to actually do a murder. He tells her she’s in if she murders Rex. She tells him he is sick. He tells her she’d better not ever say that to him again and he tells her he no longer needs her or her club because he has his own club. He moves his manikins of Natalie and Evangeline and tells them that they are his “club”. Sicko!

Dorian asks Kelly and Blair to help her pick out shoes for her wedding. She’s already cluttered her living room with boxes of shoes that stack 10 feet high. Blair notices that Kelly is very upset about something. But Kelly does not reveal what is going on. David is also there and not interested in the shoes. Blair tells Dorian the shoes are great. But Kelly tells her she hates them. Alone with Kelly, Blair asks her why she’s so depressed. She tells Blair that she resents her meddling in her life. She’s already got Dorian for that. Hearing that, Blair concludes she must be talking about Kevin.

Nick (the jock from the Love Crew in 2004) gets out of Hayes’ “holding place” and goes to the hospital stating that he has a life and death emergency on his hands. I guess he's trying to find Michael.

Roxie goes to the police station and runs into Adriana telling her that somebody said she had to go to the commish with Rex’s toothbrush. Knowing that Roxie has no clue what has happened to her son, Adriana looks at her worried and tells her that Bo and John want to talk to her.

Marcie asks Hayes why he wants her to kill Rex. He tells her that when you kill, you die inside. You become “one of us”. He tells her that when she kills Rex Balsom, he will get to kill her. Sweet, innocent little Marcie will be a murderer for the rest of her life. She tells him he is sick and sadistic. She tells him that his wanting her to get liposuction shows what a loser he is. She knows that she does not need anything like that. She tells him that no amount of plastic surgery could ever fix what is wrong with him. He’s living proof of that. And she will never be like him. She says she’s going to go and get Rex some help. He tells her she may say goodbye to Michael. She turns around and asks him what he just said. He tells her she either does what he says or Michael McBain is a dead man.

Michael goes to Rodi’s asking if anybody saw Marcie. He runs into Nick. Nick asks him if he’s checked out back. Nick has apparently been brainwashed by Hayes to set Michael up. And he goes outside and pulls out his gun waiting for Michael.

Blair tells Kelly that she did not intend to interfere. Just to help. Kelly tells Blair that she should not have gotten Kevin to go to the carriage house before her date with Spencer. But Blair tells Kelly that Kevin is in love with her. She tells her that some people go throughout their lives trying to get over somebody and convincing themselves that they are done with them. But then one day, they realize that they cannot be without them. They were meant for each other no matter what they want to believe. Kelly tells Blair that is her (Blair’s) life, not hers’ (Kelly’s). Dorian tells her two nieces that while she does not know everything that is going to happen, she knows that Spencer is going to be David’s best man. Hearing that, David tells Dorian the day Spencer is his best man will be the day that Viki is her maid of honor.

Roxie asks Bo why somebody needed Rex’s toothbrush. Bo shows her Rex’s watch. She then breaks down crying, realizing some maniac got her kid. Bo tells her she must believe everything will be ok. Adriana invites Roxie to go down and get some tea with her.

Evangeline sees John and he tells her he is supposed to end this. She tells him it’s not his fault that it’s happening.

Bo examines the bandana and Rex’s watch with John. They go back in time to the Woman of the Year ceremony. That was when Natalie was first kidnapped.

Marcie pleads with Hayes that Michael never did anything to him. He’s good and kind. He asks her if she is still in love with him. She says not anymore. He tells her she must offer him a “quid pro quo” and decide on whether to save the life or Rex or of Michael. She tells him she will not kill either one of them. But he tells her it’s so good that he gets to play God. And he again asks her what she’s decided.

Nick meets Michael outside Rodi’s and holds a gun on him. Michael demands to know where Marcie is. He already knows that Nick has helped Hayes kidnap Marcie. Nick tells Michael he’s coming with him.

Blair reveals to Dorian that she plans to have a wedding with Todd in the near future. Knowing that Dorian does not approve of that, Blair says she does not want to get into that. Dorian finally admits to Blair that she wants whatever will make her happy. But the man has so much baggage that follows him around and she would not want that to negatively affect Blair’s life. Just then, Dorian remembers she has to go somewhere. Blair tells her she does not want to be responsible for having to move this big stack of shoes. After Kelly and David enter carrying an armful of men’s shoes for David, they wonder where Dorian went.

Hayes tells Marcie about the ways she can cut Rex with a knife. She asks him if he can assure her that he will save Michael if she does what he wants. He tells her there’s no guarantee.

Outside Rodi’s, Michael tries to get through to Nick that Hayes Barber is sick and he cannot help him. He urges Nick to talk to him about what is going on with him. Nick breaks down crying and says he loved Julie (tanaka, also from the Love Crew) and “did not want to do it”. Michael then concludes that Nick killed her. Nick says that Hayes put him up to it and he’s afraid he’ll go to prison. Michael tells Nick that maybe he can help him stay out of prison, knowing he did not mean to kill Julie. He reminds him that Hayes does not care about him nor want to protect him from anything. He urges Nick to know that he can help him if he helps Marcie.

Roxie leaves the PD telling them that they must find her kids. Just then, John gets a call. It sounds like he can hear Michael telling Nick that if he takes him to Marcie, the cops might cut him a break. But if he shoots him and leaves him there, then he will get charged with murder. It looks like Michael is wired. Bo and John hear their conversation and rush to find Michael and Nick.

It looks like the secret place Dorian is going to is Viki’s. She enters and asks Viki to be her matron of honor. Viki asks her why in the world she’d consider such a thing with all the negative history they have had. Dorian says yes. She believes in spite of hers and Viki’s differences, Viki believes in Dorian and David. Dorian tells Viki she knows she’s made many mistakes in her life. But she doesn’t want this to be a mistake. She wants this marriage to last. Viki agrees to be Dorian’s matron of honor.

Nick keeps telling Michael that he trusts Hayes. Hayes cares about him and is helping him. Michael keeps telling him that Hayes is using him. Maichal urges Nick to put the gun down. But Nick refuses.

Hayes’ phone rings. It’s Nick. He tells Hayes he msut help him. Michael called the cops. They will come and get him and it’s all Hayes’ fault that he’s going to get in trouble. Hayes tells Nick he must kill Michael now. Nick finds that he cannot do that. Michael tells Nick he can help him Nick tells Michael there’s only one way out of this. Hayes keeps yelling through the phone, at Nick to kill Michael.

Kelly, Blair and David wonder where Dorian went. She suddenly comes back and informs them that she “took care” of something. She announces that Viki will be her matron of honor. None of them know what to say.

Evangeline and Adriana take Roxanne home to her boarding house. She asks Evangeline what one does when they love someone but there’s nothing to do to help them. Evangeline says you can pray.

John and Bo and cops go to Rodi’s with guns, find Nick and demand he drops the gun. Hayes yells at Nick to kill McBain. Through Hayes phone, Marcie hears a gun-fire, assumes Michael has been shot and breaks down crying hysterically.
