Todd gets on the phone to find Jessica. He asks one of his contacts if he can help find her. He later meets with Rich, Jessica’s financial agent whom she asked for money not long ago, while being Tess.

In New York, “Tess” is enjoying wine with Nash. He tells her that there is a mystery to the one she is sampling. He also tells her it will not give her a hangover. He tells her that there is a saying that in wine there is truth.

Blair and Starr go shopping. Starr seems out of spirits. Blair reveals that she knows her daughter has a boyfriend whom she is Instant Messaging. Hearing that, Starr is angry that her mother is invading her privacy and asks if she has not ruined her life enough.

After it seems as though Hayes has had Nick murder Michael, Marcie cries. She screams at Hayes that he killed Michael. Hayes tells her no. She killed Michael in order to save Rex. Rex is sitting and looking semi- unconscious, moving his head and seeming like he might aware of something.

In the alley outside Rodi’s, Nick is down after getting shot. Bo and John call for help. Michael tries to revive him and get him to breath. It looks like Michael is ok.

Dorian tells David that she has asked Viki to be her matron of honor and Viki has agreed. He doesn’t seem to care, knowing that she only did that because he told her the day that Spencer is his best man will be the day that Viki is her matron of honor. Remembering that, she tells him that if that is a “bluff”, then he is being called.

Nash tells Tess that you cannot rush a fine wine. Grapes need time to mature. You cannot make a good wine with a rigid schedule. She tells him she hopes all his dreams come true. He asks her what she dreams about. She says she has no dreams. He asks her what the one thing is that she’d be willing to die for. She asks him if he wants her to say finding Emerald City. He asks her what she really wants. She tells him she wants to stay there forever.

John screams at an injured and semi-conscious Nick, demanding that he tells him where Natalie, Marcie and Rex are. Michael asks his brother to ease up on Nick because he’s been shot. Bo tells John he needs to calm down. But John grabs Nick and demands that he tells him where the three hostages are. He tells Nick if he doesn’t start talking, he will send him straight to hell.

Marcie asks Hayes how he can do that. He tells her that she is a loser because she could not kill Rex. He tells her that now she will have to be eliminated. He starts ranting by telling her that she wrote a perfect “how to” manual. She gave him all the tips on how to do what he is doing. But now he is calling the shots and he tells her he cannot wait to show her what he has in store for her.

Dorian tells David he must call his brother and ask him to stand up for him at the wedding. He tells her if she knew anything about his brother, she’d know that he never stands up for anything or anybody except himself. And he asks her why she would want her arch nemeses to stand up for her at the wedding. She tells him that she wants as much as he does, for this to be the most special day of their lives. She wants it to be with their family and friends. But he reminds her that Viki is neither family nor friend to her. She says that by asking Viki, she is defying the odds and daring him to do the same. He tells her that what he meant by saying he’ll ask Spencer when she asks Viki is that he’ll asks Spencer when hell freezes over.

Blair tells Starr that she did not mean to violate her privacy. It’s just that she is her mother and she wants to know about what’s going on in her life. Starr tells her mother that she has no life and has to use aliases whenever she talks to anybody on the I.M. She tells her that none of the kids in school want anything to do with her. They are afraid that Margaret Cochran will kidnap them if they hang with Starr.

Todd tells Rich that he will give him half a million dollars if he can find Jessica. Rich asks if he’s involved her mother, Viki in finding her. Todd asks Rich if he’s seen Jessica. Rich admits that he did a short time ago when she called and asked him for money.

Nash tells Tess that it looks like she has all the freedom she wants. He asks her what is holding her back. He says it may mean that she’s stuck between her old life and her new life. And maybe it’s better when you know where you are going. He suggests that maybe she needs a vineyard of her own so she can stop trying to live other people’s lives.

Hayes looks like he’s sedated Marcie, along with Rex. He calls a “meeting” where he’s going to initiate both Rex Balxom and Marcie Walsh into his club. It looks like Rex and Marcie are the only living being in the room except for Hayes. Manikins surround them. But Rex breaks himself free and struggles with Hayes. He makes an attempt to free Marcie.

Dorian asks David why, if she can put her differences with Viki aside, can he not put his differences with Spencer aside. He tells her it’s too complicated and he’s not about to overlook his differences with his brother.

Tess admits to Nash that she’s spent too much of her life living like one kind of a person, the kind she does not want to be. But now she believes that she can fulfill her dreams and be the kind of person she wants to be.

John keeps grilling Nick and demands he talks. But Michael tells his brother that Nick is in shock, needs medical care at least in order to keep him alive long enough so he can tell them. The paramedics come and Bo informs them that this man is holding three people captive. Michael asks Nick if he can hear him.

Hayes is on the ground when Rex is untying Marcie. But then, psycho-boy comes to and knocks Rex out. He ties them both up and attaches the ropes to sandbags. He tells them that as the sandbags fall, the weight of the sand bags will tighten the noose around their necks.

Bo asks Nick to tell him where Rex is. Michael tells Nick that he must know that Marcie was good to him and he must want to help her. Nick finally tells him that Hayes has Marcie and Rex in the warehouse past the rail yards. Bo calls for back up to go there. Michael tells Nick that Marcie had better be ok or he will kill Nick himself.

Rich tells Todd that he cannot discuss confidential meetings he had with Jessica. Todd suggests that they call Jessica and meet with her. Rich tells Todd that Jessica did not leave a number and he expected to hear from her by now.

Tess and Nash look out the window and she asks him about his story. He tells her his life is an open book. She asks him where he came from. He doesn’t want to answer. She says he’s asked her enough questions and asks him what he left behind. He tells her he’s blocked it out of his mind and evades the issue. Alone, Tess tells Jessica she needs her to do one more thing for her before they say goodbye forever.

Dorian calls Spencer and finds out he’s in surgery so she cannot talk to him. She gets off the phone and tells David that he has a reprieve. He tells her he won’t consider having his brother as best man. But she tells him their wedding will be so fabulous that nothing can spoil it.

Adriana comes into the kitchen and notices David. He can tell she is upset about something. She informs him that the killing club killer has Rex. He asks her who Rex is. She tells him he’s Natalie’s brother, Roxie’s son and a friend of hers’. He helped the cops nail Colson after he murdered Jen Rappaport and Paul Kramer. At first, David makes light of how it’s becoming “medieval” with all the hangings and burning in oil they’re hearing about. But he apologizes.

Blair tells Starr that she thought things were back to normal and didn’t realize that she was so upset. Starr tells her mother that the kids were starting to accept her until this. Blair says she wishes she could hold her and make things better. She assures Starr that Margaret is gone. And their lives are going forward. She tells Starr she promises that nothing will tear this family apart. She tells her that what she’d really like is for her to stand with her head held high. And let those people know that she is proud of who she is. She tells Starr she realizes she may wish she had other parents. But she tells Starr that she believes she got the best of both worlds. Because Starr is beautiful and smart and courageous. Starr then goes to get an ice cream cone. Oh, NO! Right when Blair is sitting alone, a car drives up with sicko Margaret in it. Or maybe that is just Blair’s fear. Margaret is not really there. But Blair is still haunted by her.

The noose is tightening around Marcie’s and Rex’s necks. He asks her if she is ok. She says she’ hanging on. But then she admits that she’s about to pass out. Right then, John appears with a gun.

Dorian notices that Adriana is upset and asks what is up. David reminds Adriana that her mother has ways of getting you to talk. She tells Dorian about Rex getting abducted right after she had a conversation with him about how devastated he was about losing Jen. She talks about how Rex really wanted to turn his life around. He used to be kind of a bad boy. But now he’s becoming a quality person. And she tells them if Rex dies, it would be so unfair. Dorian tells her daughter that life is not fair. And she assures her that one thing she knows about Rex is that he knows how to save his own skin. Adriana tells them she’s tired and needs to go to bed. When Dorian is alone with David she asks since when did Adriana become such a good friend of Rex Balsom’s.

After having their ice cream cones, Blair and Starr grab their shopping bags and go home. Blair tells her daughter that she had a great day and asks her if she really wishes she had different parents. Starr replies no. Maybe she just wishes they had different lives.

Right when Rich is meeting with Todd, Tess calls him. She asks if he has additional funds. He tells her he can meet her at the restaurant but does not admit that Todd is there. She agrees to be right there.

They rush Nick to the hospital right when he is about to tell Michael what has happened to the captives. He tells them “she is dead”. Michael does not know if he’s talking about Natalie or Marcie. Just then, Nick goes into cardiac arrest and can no longer talk.

Bo and the cops free Marcie and Rex. They both seem drugged but ok. John asks Rex where Hayes Barber is.
