One Life to Live Update for Wednesday, 17-Aug-2005

Hugh informs Nora that the cops have found some of Natalie’s possessions and some clues as to where she might be. Nora tells him, in a frustrated manner, that she wonders what kinds of things Hayes and his sidekick, Nick did not think of. Evangeline walks in and informs them that they did not consider her. She sounds like it might not be so hopeless, after all, in finding Natalie. She informs them for the first time that she went under hypnosis. She tells them that she had to do everything she could to help Natalie. They were there together and she was lucky enough to be spared. Hearing that, Nora asks how anybody could be so selfless. But she tells Evangeline that hypnosis is no small thing. She realizes they must find Natalie. But she is afraid that it will really hurt Evangeline to see John rescue Natalie.

Marcie goes to talk to Nick in his hospital room. He tells her she should not be there. He does not tell her why. She asks him if he is afraid that she turned into a homicidal manica. But she reminds him that murder was only fiction for her. She didn’t ever actually kill anybody like he did. He tells her she does not know what it was like for him to be with Hayes. He asks her what she wants from him. He almost died himself and may be going to prison. He asks her what she expects him to do. She tells him she wants to know why he did it.

Viki prays to God to thank him for bringing Jessica back. Dorian suddenly comes by but assumes viki wants her to leave. Viki tells Dorian that she must not feel unwelcome. Knowing that Natalie is still missing, Dorian tells Viki that she cannot imagine what she is going through. Kelly then enters and when she sees Jessica, welcomes her back.. Kevin then enters and does not appear comfortable to see Kelly and Dorian.

After the avalanche has fallen upon Natalie and John cannot break the lock to the well, the other cops tell John they will get her out. Rex is ready to find her but Bo tells him he must stay back and let the cops do their job. He notices that John cannot sit back without doing something. He tells him they must both get out of their way.

Nora asks Evangeline if she is really over John and ready to “let it go” in regard to his entanglement with Natalie, if and when she is found. Evangeline tells her she is ready to move on once Natalie is found. Hugh then comes to inform them that the cops have found Natalie. But he notices that Nora is having more of her dizzy spells.

Rex questions Bo about whether they are really certain that Natalie is underneath the rubble in the well. Right then, John announces that they found her.

Layla notices Adriana at Capricorn and discovers that her brother is not working tonight. She assumes and suspects that Layla has taken him away from the woman he loves. She affirms that she and Antonio are only friends. And she lets her know, for the first time, that Jessica is back. But she tells her that Jessica went away to New York for a long time without telling Antonio where she went. She also tells Adriana that she is not desperate enough to “fall” for a guy who goes all the way to another state after another person. Adriana tells Layla that she can tell that Layla does not have a boyfriend of her own. There’s no way she could if she is spending so much time analyzing Antonio’s relationship with another person. Layla asks Adriana how Antonio can forgive or trust Jessica for going away. Adriana tells her that their relationship is very complicated. She tells her about Tico. And it all sounds, to Layla as though Antonio has been holding the torch for Jessica while she’s broken his heart. Adriana then informs Layla that she must go and call her boyfriend, realizing that they do not like to go to sleep without saying goodnight to each other because it gets lonely, revealing to Layla that it is not good for anybody to be alone.

Duke asks his father if he is upset about something. He can tell that Kevin has had some problems with Kelly. Kevin admits that there is something going on that is more complicated than just another argument. Duke tells Kevin that everybody, (with the exception of Dorian) knows that he and Kelly belong together. But Kevin reveals to his son that for once, he believes Dorian is right. He made a big mistake thinking they had a future. He should have known that he cannot trust Kelly. Dorian tells Kelly that she has noticed that she and Kevin are having problems, sounding like she hopes they are done for good. But Kelly does not want to talk about it nor share Dorian’s “glee” that she is having problems with Kevin. Everyone is happy that Jessica is back but still worried about Natalie.

Nick admits to Marcie that he really screwed up. Nora and Hugh enter his room and ask Marcie what she’s doing there. Nick says he let her in. They inform them that nobody should be in his room talking to him since Nick has turned over state’s evidence in exchange for immunity. He admits that he might be able to live with himself if he can help them find Natalie.

Evangeline goes out to the crime scene and tells the cops that she is part of this investigation and they can’t stop her from helping the search party. She sees a reporter who doesn’t seem to care about anything except getting into her business in that she used to sleep with John and all of the “press gossip” about Natalie.

Bo, John and Rex are very stressed at having to wait to get Natalie out of the avalanche and how to go about it. Rex tells the cops they better stop wasting time. Natalie could be suffocating. They better get her out of there now. Hearing that, John says he’s going down to rescue her. The other guy says that they only can let “experienced” rescue workers go down. Evangeline comes down and tells Bo he must let John go ahead and save Natalie before it’s too late.

Kevin tells Duke that it’s turned out the only reason Kelly wanted to get close to him again was so that she could sell their company out by stealing information. Duke tells Kevin that it makes no sense that Kelly would do something like that. And he tells his father he must give her the benefit of the doubt.

Dorian tells Kelly that she only wants her niece to be happy with a good man, worthy of her. She tells her that going back to an “old love”, is usually not successful. When you go back to the old problems, it just causes more headaches. Kelly tells her aunt that this has nothing to do with her and Kevin having an argument or being incompatible. She reveals to Dorian that she is not going back to BE because Kevin accused her of being a corporate spy. Kevin then enters and Dorian gives him dirty looks. She tells him she “knows what is going on and feels so badly about it.” Duke finds Kelly and she knows he wants to pep-talk her into getting back with his dad. She tells him if Kevin distrusts her, then she needs to realize they have some serious problems.


Nora tells Nick that she can give him a suspended sentence but he will still spend enough time in Statesville. Marcie and Hugh go out the door. He asks her if she is ok, knowing she is very upset. He makes it clear that he likes her... And she seems to like him.

They finally uncover all the rubble that has fallen over Natalie. They know she is there. But she's unconscious and nobody knows how to get to her.
