One Life to Live Update for Friday, 26-Aug-2005

John notices the files of Christian Vega and realizes that while it looks like he needs no longer worry about anything, there is still a deep, dark secret that he has to live with.

Natalie returns to Llanfaire and all her friends and family are there to surprise her.

Blair tells Bo that she knows that Todd has taken the law into his own hands for going after Margaret. And she needs him to do something or else her family could be in danger. He finds out from her that Todd got stabbed, and does not buy what she says was Todd’s explanation that he changed a flat tire and lost enough blood to need a transfusion. He calls his daddy.

Todd knows the hospital where Margaret would have to go to have her baby. He finds the doctor whom he remembers had the mistaken idea that she was “Rose Dawson” and he was her “husband, Jack”. He grabs the doctor and demands to know where Margaret is. Margaret is able to hear him and knows he’s there. At the “hospital” where Margaret is, Todd tells the doctor and nurse that this woman’s name is Margaret. She tried to kill him and his wife and his daughter. She shot him in both of his legs. She falsified her identity. Hearing his “anger” from the other room, Margaret tells them that her “husband” has a habit of these little tantrums. When she knows that Todd is right outside the door and ready to find her, she climbs out the window but seems to leave behind a key that says Holland Hotel. She also leaves a sonogram on the ground. Todd comes into the room and notices it. The nurse tells him he must resolve his differences with his “wife” because they are about to bring this beautiful baby into the world. Hearing that, he tells her he needs to “find his wife”. But she says that Margaret did not leave an address. Right on the floor, however, is her key.

Dorian talks to David and expresses “interest” in Craze Magazine for the first time. He asks her why, all of a sudden, she has interest in pitching a story for the magazine. He knows that she wants him to get “busy” at work so that she can get “busy” with some plans of her own. He tells her he knows that she just wants to distract him so that she can find out his secrets from Spencer. She protests that she wouldn’t have to do that if he would be straight with her and reveal his secrets himself.

Michael goes to see John. Assuming that John no longer needs to obsess about anything, he asks his brother if he wants to go and hang out and do something. John makes it obvious that he is still obsessed. Michael knows nothing about the deep, dark secret involving Christian Vega and assumes his brother has Natalie on the brain. Michael asks his brother what is up. Why is he letting all the stuff from his past prevent him from being happy, he asks. John sets his brother straight that what he is dealing with is something that is in the present. Michael asks what that could possibly be. John tells him that it’s about Christian Vega. Michael asks John WHAT the deal is with Christian Vega. The dude is dead. Is he afraid Natalie will always be in love with her the way John will always be in love with Kaitlin. But if John wants to be with Natalie and she-with him, that what is standing in the way? Having no clue what John’s “secret” is about Christian Vega, Michael suggests that John just gets his “issues” about Christian out on the table.

Viki, Roxie, Rex, Kevin, Kelly, Duke Asa, Renee and all of both of Natalie’s families have a celebration for her. Duke tells Rex that he and Adriana are on track. Rex tells him he’s a very lucky guy. Natalie tells Kelly she is happy for her and Kevin to be getting back together. But Viki does not understand why all she got from Jessica was a message on her answering machine. Nobody else has a clue why that would happen. The Jessica they know would have moved heaven and earth to be there for her sister. Rex tells Natalie that he believes that John is no good for her. She asks him why he feels he must “protect” her from John. He tells her that “love” can kill you. SO she must run as fast as she can from John. Hearing that, Kelly comes out and tells him that is the stupidest thing she has ever heard. Right then, Asa gets a call from his son the cop. Wonder what about? Bo calls Asa to the station, tells him he knows that there is a connection between him and Todd Manning and Margaret Cochran. And he wants to know what it is.

Evangeline goes to Capricorn to tell her sister she is over John and tired of hearing Layla talk about him. Layla tells Evangeline that she knows that John is “hiding something”. Evangeline tells Layla that she does not care if he is or not. But it looks obvious that Layla is not about to let it go. And she tells her sister that she knows that she also does not want to forget about John. Right then, Hugh Hughes comes by and Layla tells him that her sister is alone and would like somebody to dance with.
