fear he’s be arrested for fraud and lying on an affidavit. This was all about self preservation. He took the greedy route initially and then the coward’s route later. There is no honor in what Cody did why he told the lie or why it kept it going.
I know that JJY was on medical hiatus but Mac being out of the country didn’t factor into his decision to keep the secret. The man has whined about two things at nauseam:
1. Being broke
2. Not having a loving family
He could have had #2 easily as he knew before Mac left. Even if he didn’t know until later, he could have called or FaceTimed him with the news. #1 was his main priority which is terribly insulting to Mac.
Meh, I understand being greedy initially since he didn't know Mac much at the time. And since he didn't know Mac much at the time, being selfish at that point I completely understand. We as fans think it's insulting to Mac because we like him and know the character inside out. My only problem with Cody in all of this is that he then got to know him over several months prior to Mac leaving and got to know Maxie and James more..... he said nothing. That was the time to tell him and where he was a real coward. Because he knew by then he wanted to be part of that family but did nothing and continued to lie.
Cody as a character is pretty spineless. He seems like the kind of person that bolts when something gets the slightest bit difficult.
