Elizabeth Korte has been there like 27 years. She either needs to be relegated to just a writer or given her walking papers.
Walking papers would get my vote.
The current team we have in place is on the same BS since I was a teen. Jason, Sonny, Carly are The Titans of General Hospital. They believe this is who the audience wants to see in the forefront and bouncing from front burner to front burner story. No matter who their adversary is--they will come out victorious.
I don't mind those three being front burner actors. But man, they really need to have more balance and take them in different directions for whatever stories they do give them and be on less. They've been written the same way for so long that it's not interesting anymore. As much as I love Sonny, I hated the NF story, hated him and Nina and i detest this last bipolar, meds story which is a variance of what we've seen before numerous times.
Jeff, it's like you said last week. They set this all up when they put the focus on the mob. The have all of their eggs in one basket. This means, this three will never get their comeuppance. I feel like Carly is Korte's girl. The writers clearly play favorites here.
Not only that, if they want to do mob stuff lean into it and write it more realistically. The writing for mob was good in the 90s and even in the early to mid 2000s. But since then it's gotten worse and worse. Ava got out of the mob, why not get Sonny out of the mob and change course a little bit... or a lot. Hell, it wouldn't bother me if we didn't see Sonny for a while after this. Might give me enough reason to not watch for a while. Won't happen though.
I just don't get how ABC isn't chomping at the bit to turn things around. The ratings are eroding.
Yeah, not sure what they'll do to change the ratings but ending these SL's and making changes with the writers would be a start. But didn't they already make changes with the writing this year? Not sure what else they can do.
