some type of awful, overbearing husband who horribly mistreated Lulu. That was weird.

I was also on TeamRic. Alexis needed to stuff her attitude towards him long enough to listen to what he was saying. He was there on behalf of Molly because he wants to see their daughter be ok, not just to rag on Alexis. But everything he said was true. Alexis acts like poor Kristina is the only one hurting here, the only one who needs love and support from a parent.
