John was blackmailing the fake lady agent into killing Ava. Let's just say he was already waiting at the murder location, to ensure she completes his request. Ava still grabs the steering wheel and instead of Isaiah--they run over agent Cates instead! Boom. He's dead.
To have Sonny murder the man in cold blood, be arrogant about it and more than likely skate?! That is just irresponsible and hack writing. The audacity to think that your audience will just swallow this is insane.
