Kissing the Ring: The Sonny/Lucky scenes were not as bad as I was expecting. I'm still scratching my head wondering what the hell the point was. Sonny and Lucky have NEVER been close. Why Lucky felt the need to spill his guts to Sonny is beyond me. I know Adam Huss is busy with other projects, but it sure would have been nice to have those scenes be with Nikolas, Elizabeth or even Jason. I say the latter because he too has been an absentee father. And I was right. Lucky is afraid!
Hospital Happenings: I think the Ava/Portia scenes were my favorite of the episode. Portia was standoffish and dismissive. But Ava saw through all of it. I loved the part when Ava loudly said Portia! Basically, it was like stop the bull $hit. You can't snow me. Portia knew the jig was up and you could see the relief on her face to have someone to confide in. This secret is obviously eating at her. Not the act itself, but the fact that the fuse is lit on this exploding in her face. They both love Trina. Portia has always known that her daughter shares a bond with Ava--she didn't always approve. I think these scenes demonstrated to Portia just how much Trina means to Ava. Now they are teaming up to protect the secret. The timing of Brad being back does seem convenient to make him the scapegoat, but it would be such a slap in the face to the audience, because both the test and the results were conducted long before Brad was rehired. To pull this off would mean a rewrite. It's not like they haven't done it before.
Casa de Carly: NuNuLucas can act, but that's about all that worked for me. No offense to the actor, but it's a bit of a downgrade from Ryan Carnes.
Bickering at Bobbie's: Tio (Trina/Gio) is endgame here. I see both of their POVs. Look at Joss playing peacemaker. Gio is already fond of Trina. I think he has been for quite some time. Trina isn't there...yet. I liked how they talked it out and it was sweet of Gio to emphasize he would do the performance--but for Trina, not Ava.
Final thoughts - I have this feeling that after all of this, Lucky will not be a match. I have two predictions:
1. Charlotte will return and be the match.
2. Once Sam kicks the bucket, she'll be a match. Does anyone remember if Sam got tested? I don't think so they were focusing on family members, but a non-family member CAN be a match too!
