Sonny and Kate – October 13, 2008, to October 15, 2008
Everyone was trying to convince Sonny that going back to the mob and taking revenge against Karpov would make things worse. Kate, Carly, and also Alexis. They insisted that Sonny should let the police conduct an investigation and take action about the person or organization that was behind Kate’s shooting. But Sonny was convinced that he should go back to the mob to avoid being exposed to threats from other mob organizations.
Sonny made an attempt against Karpov, but he didn’t follow through as people from Karpov’s as well as Jason’s organization intervened.
Then there was the conversation between Kate and Olivia about the secret of Dante. They disagreed about keeping this a secret from Sonny moving forward. Olivia believed that revealing this secret would impact Dante’s life in a negative way. In the scenes in these episodes, Kate seemed to believe otherwise; that Sonny was a good father and that he should know about Dante. She even stated that it was possible that if Sonny knew about Dante, he would have a reason to stay out of the mob.
The conversation then became about whether or not Kate knew Sonny well enough. Did she understand his tendency to get revenge when he is wronged? Olivia seemed to think that she didn’t. That Kate was making excuses for him. This was also similar to what Carly thought was true.
Carly and Olivia were amicable, and this created doubt about whether Olivia was truly loyal to Kate. But Olivia did seem to stand up for Kate when Claudia was involved. This was all on screen and they may have indicated the possible directions of story in Kate and Olivia’s relationship. Where the direction would go depended on the choices of a fan on a message board dedicated to the story of Sonny and Kate.
Why did these choices matter? Was there another entity that pursued this person wanting her to face consequences?
