Look, as a Black man--I know all too well about racial injustice. I just feel like Portia has been playing that same record and it's scratched! I felt where she was coming from when Cam pulled the gun on Jason and the cops calmly talked him down and he was unharmed. If Cam were Black/Brown--that might have ended very differently.
I try to never weigh in on this kind of thing. But for her to jump to the "racially motivated" conclusion and Curtis to immediately agree felt very presumptive to me... did they even say who the judge was who made the ruling? They may have and I missed it... but if not for all we know the judge was black... or yellow or native american... or some other minority. Sometimes things just are. But I cannot and do not claim to know what it is to be a minority... other than a woman... and trust me I know that in itself does result in some automatic discrimination... but I try not to always assume I am being discriminated against because of my gender.
Anyway.... thank you Antwon for giving your take on that dialogue.
