Keeping quiet about an attempted murder for financial gain. He's not exactly in a good position and would face jail time himself and face the possibility of losing his law license. If she's smart (she is when the writers allow her to be) she'll wise up and record him blackmailing her, same with Ava. Neither of them is exactly subtle with their threats.
