for Alexis to talk to Kristina but keep it from Molly than to keep the news to herself. There is no plot or structural reason to have Alexis acting this stupid. There is still plenty of drama with Alexis talking to Kristina and insisting she get help, and then Molly finding out the truth and that her mother knew all this time both her mother and sister kept it from her.

The drama is still there ... in fact to me is more dramatic if Alexis is written to character.
