parents who hate more than they love their own children. I don't have kids but there is nothing my nephews or niece could do to make me turn my back on them.
Like you said, if they had just fleshed her out more. Why did she feel this way? Was it based in religion? Her own upbringing? This could have been a learning experience, her coming to accept her daughter and have a good relationship with her but she didn't. And then we find out about Marco? That she already had one child come out and her horrible response to him cost her their relationship and she learned NOTHING from that? She doubled down on it with Blaze? It's just bad writing.
