That I totally get. I know many people who think of step-parents as "mom or dad" or who didn't get to know their bio parents until later but they still have that connection. Drew was like 40 when he first met Monica. I just think it would've sounded less weird (to me) if he'd instead said "she was my family, too" or "she treated me like a son". It could just be me, tho, and my deep loathing of all things Drew.
